The Rotorua duck tours đ Oh isnt this a goody of a trip. Went to Rotorua for a funeral. Wasnât expecting to have such a good time! This tour was why. My uncle Danny, was a Rotorua lover, he loved the smell? He loved the weather, and he loved the girls and views. Yet he never told me about the duck tours. I feel like I need to explain the tours. It has nothing to do with ducks!?
I know, we all love ducks, but youâll love this tour more. Itâs a -boat bus-. I cried when I saw the bad boy of a ride. My youngest son Angus, was a bit down that morning, but after going on the boat bus he was over the moon!! Unfortunately he had to leave the bus boat due to indecent exposure:( It was amazing driving on the road then into the water.
I did hold the -bus boat- up for a while so I could take my photos, but thank goodness nobody was toooo mad
Thank you Rotorua Duck Tours, you made my uncle funeral...
Read moreShelley Moana (Shelley Ocean) was friendly, professional and provided a humorous historical insight into the history of the Duck, the history of the people and the local community. She gave us wonderful commentary and made us feel a part of the stories she told. Her music was fantastic and fit the dramatic moments perfectly which made the ride even better. I felt safe in her driving and skippering abilities, she came across as if she had been doing this for a very long time and provided the safety talks fully. My husband and I walked the Milford Track earlier this year, and met an Australian lass who was hoping to have stories shared by the wardens about Maori history and it was sorely lacking in stories but maybe this was due to fact of the South Island history. Your company provided so much more, and Shelley Moana is a definite asset to your team and to New Zealand. Keep up...

I found the tour a bit boring. It's very slow and noisy. But kids loved it. Good for anxious kids or non-thrill seekers. I wished it spent more time in the water and it was part of the trip rather than just going in and out the same spot.
The best part is seeing the duck travel between land and water.
If you want something more exciting, jet boating is a better option. For a leisurely cruise then this is nice, a bit of an experience for the amphibious part, but expensive for what is- mostly an old school bus trip with windows down. $225 for...
