Ordered off MENULOG for 2 people and my initial reaction was beyond shocked. I came to google to review the food only to find a similar opinion to be attacked by a defensive owner who can't control their emotions which is disappointing. So while I may be attacked by the owner (to their right), I'll give my honest review FOR CUSTOMERS.
For restaurant food - everything is pricey there's no doubt about it and since most people care about quality or quantity here is my review of the food. $80 after the restaurant discount: Sides - Bang bang chicken salad (quality 3/5, quantity 2/5) Fried chicken bites (quality 2/5, quantity 1/5) Mains - Beef noodle soup + beef (quality 4/5, quantity 4/5 due to the amount of meat being good) Scallion noodle + pork zajang (quality 4/5, quantity 3/5)
Overall - Quality of the noodles are good, quantity was reasonable. Sides were average quality and extremely poor quantity - sent pictures to friends and they couldn't believe it. Competitive? - not really. I would go to Sichuan over this place. But in fairness I barely go to Sichuan because it too is expensive but you get quality and quantity especially if you are eating with 3 or more people and you don't feel cheated for the price.
I don't think I would go here again due to the quantity:price ratio but for those that do - buying the sides will lead to major blood...

I came here with my wife for some quick Asian food but soon was overwhelmed by the quality of the food here.
I had the classic beef noodle soup and let me say, it is wonderful! The noodles are made fresh daily, the broth is an explosion of flavours and don't get me started on the beef! The brisket is a large piece of the most tender beef I have ever had in a noodle soup, literally melting in your mouth! You can adapt the dish to your taste with self-made chilli oil, vinegar or salt supplied on tables.
The menu is concise and has something for every taste. The kitchen is fully visible from the guest room, made of gleaming stainless steel and operated by a crew of chefs, that operate like a well-oiled machine.
The place itself looks very tidy, clear and inviting and prices are very affordable - you realy get a bang for your buck.
This is by far the best Asian noodle restaurant I have ever eaten at. Well deserved 5/5 stars!
Got time for a little trivia? This is actually the second restaurant of the owner with his first being only a couple of doors down the street, now run by his wife and called "Saigon 60s" which I also can warmly recommend.
Definitely stop by the Spa City Noodle Bar once you have the...

From the minute we walked in we were impressed. Friendly, engaging server who explained how to order and we were given our choice of where to sit (we chose the bar so we could watch the food being made) .
We were impressed with the cleanliness of the kitchen and the speed in which the food came out.
The portion sizes and prices were really reasonable. My partner got the Garlicky Dry Noodles and I had the Sichuan Wontons. We also got the Manuka Chicken and the saucy pancakes. Worth mentioning that the spice on the wontons was a 2 and I still found them the perfect heat 🙂. The food was amazing 🥰
We were really impressed with this new place and will definitely be regulars. So nice to have a trendy new place in Rotorua x
P.s was really cool to see they are allergy friendly too and happy for you to bring your own food from home to enjoy with others if nothing on the menu is suitable for you 😊. Haven't seen that before and thought it was...
