KIWI AS GUEST HOUSE — Hotel in North Island

DO NO TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE!! We booked for 5 days in family room with a single bed, queen bed and bunk beds and private bathroom and had leave the day after we checked in. No refund. Just woke up and checked out. I could not stay any longer with me family.Cob webs everywhere, dust everywhere, mold on the walls by bed where wall heater was and all along bottom of walls, draft coming through broken door(although we visited summer I bet in the winter this will be pretty bad), carpet stained everywhere, mold in bathroom, bathroom faucet broken, had like a box bathroom and walls didnt go all the way up to ceiling could see rubbish, broken speakers and dust on top of this boxed bathroom area (bunk beds right next to this and my boys were all not sleeping close to this area) I suggest a health hazard to be honest, in shared area cobwebs up ceiling, mold everywhere, shared kitchen very small and laundry room quite scary to be in and actually spooked us to be in, kettle in our room was not clean down the bottom. For the price at the time we booked without extra people staying we could have stayed across the road for and extra 100 dollars at the millennium hotel. Much nicer and cleaner I would think. Definitely a backpackers...

We were only staying for 2 nights and using the guest house as a base for the night. The first thing you notice when you enter is the temperature is about 8 degrees warmer inside than outside (when outside was shirt and shorts weather). The manager was friendly and did a quick tour of the place and took us to our room. The room had two singles as requested with a bathroom on suite. ||The bathroom had a shower curtain that kept getting in the way and I literally had to kneel to be able to get under the shower to wash my hair. The room only had two sets of plugs only on one side of the room and very high up so you couldn't even put your phone on charge using the top socket.||The beds were nice and firm and comfortable as were the pillows.|Unfortunately the walls are paper thin and so we got to hear the excited moans of the couple next door both on Saturday night and Sunday morning keeping us awake or waking us up.||The fridge wasn't in the kitchen. You have to go through the kitchen and around the back to find it. The guest / tv area looked very nice, but we didn't use it.||It was ample, but could have been...

Disgusting absolutely filthy 😤 yes new carpet and curtains but bed and bunk beds were not brand new they were already damaged and owner claims that it was not. One of the legs broke off the bed when I sat down. There were rips and damage to bed base. Owner claims beds are brandnew definitely nouThere was duck tape holding together a part of the bunk the rail was flimsy as. The room smelt like fishy toilet owner claims that it's the smell from the Sulphur. Sulphur don't smell like wharepaku it smells like pātero. Lino was sticky as. There was hair between the bed base and mattress there was a white stain of some sort on the valance it was that disgusting that I didn't even want to take photos or touch anything. Owner claims that room was cleaned twice. Yeah surface clean. Handwash smelt like stail toilet cleaner This is the worst experience I've ever had. We checked out at 7am could barely sleep through the night I could no longer tolerate the filth. Owner taking no accountability. Definitely not a place for kids. Find other...
