This place is top one memory of entire NZ trip - Hangi of course, but then also Matcha?! As a tourist from abroad, I always wanted to try Hangi but it wasn't readiliy available, and we found this place and the natural sweetness and tenderness of meat and veggies and all was very very enjoyable!
And just when I was content for enjoying true NZ meal, I didn't expect to see my home country Japan's menu in such a great execution - Matcha latte here is bomb! It's right on the spot and I was not expecting this. Be it Japanese or locals who are interested in Matcha flavor, while it may be a bit bitter to your taste, I strongly recommend this. It's not a copy, it's original and executed so well. It was just simply and genuinely a great one that I didn't know I'd miss so far out from Asia lol
My regret was not to get there early enough to get a Hangi pie on the second visit because it was sold out. I'm definitely will try them in the next visit first thing in morning at Rotorua. I loved the chill local vibes and it was the most peaceful moment in the entire trip. Thank you for very very lovely and...
Read moreStopped in to support Māori business and left disappointed after spending as much as we did. Mini hashbrowns, 1 piece of dry overcooked bacon and a budget sausage in the mixed grill with stodgy cream mushrooms, salty over marinated raw fish, barely any actual paua in the creamed paua pocket served in a tiny deep fried food draining basket, oily bland mince, half a tiny tomato in the mixed grill with budget slices bread, tiny portion sizes overall, especially for the price! Far too expensive and not value for money at all. We won't be back or recommending. The only good thing was the fried bread which was a good size, crispy and moist without being underdone. The margarine spread on it and the toast was gross though. We ordered thinking we'd get a delicious big kai for the price but we left disappointed. Not...
Read moreAfter spending good money when I can't really afford it, but yet so so excited to have some Kai moana I was so so disappointed that after spending $60 all our kai was SOGGY and VERY DISAPPOINTING. The Pauas tasted like flour, our Seafood basket was SOGGY as anything (NO CRUNCH TO OUR CHIPS, FISH OR ANYTHING) VERY DISAPPOINTING.....
MY WHANAU OR FRIENDS that I shared it with were not impressed and they ALL wondered why the food was covered in tin foil as it held in ALL THE CONDENSATION causing our kai to go soggy.... I would not recommend wrapping the kai like this in the future.....
I would like to be reimbursed for this meal, PLEASE....I TRULY HOPE that my review gives you something positive to think about for future customers.
Your attention to this matter and my concerns is GREATLY...
