A Wonderful Day at the Lake Tekapo Farm Tour – December 14, 2023

What a fantastic day we had with Steve as our host on the Lake Tekapo Farm Tour! Our group—Herbert, Tom, Arthur, Jon, and myself —couldn’t have asked for a more delightful experience.

We started the day by meeting the cutest little lambs, pigs, and Hector the friendly cow. After that, we hopped into a comfy van and took a scenic ride to the lake, where we had the chance to watch some beautiful birdlife. The views were stunning, and the fresh mountain air made it all the more enjoyable.

Next, we were introduced to the farm's annual festivities, where we learned about the exciting challenge of herding sheep up a mountain in the quickest time possible—definitely a highlight! We even got to try our hand at a few swings of golf, just for fun, before sipping the finest fresh water straight from the farm.

The tour took us across both the north and south sides of the farm, each offering breathtaking views. To top it all off, we had the pleasure of feeding the llamas and sheep —who were more than happy to nibble away at the treats we had for them.

Steve was an excellent guide—knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire day so enjoyable. If you’re looking for a truly memorable farm experience with stunning views, fun activities, and the chance to interact with some of the sweetest animals and kindest tour guide, this tour is a must!

We had a day with the Lake Tekapo Farm Tours! Such a great experience. We started the day touring the farm with Steve & Sam. They were absolutely wonderful - both of them were so knowledgeable, easy going and fun to tour with. Not a dull moment! We finished the farm tour and fed a few of the sweet animals in the petting zoo (its so entertaining!). We decided to join the stargazing tour on the day itself, so we whiled away a few hours around the town. It's really picturesque, there's some nice food around as well so it's easy for the day to go by. The stargazing tour was excellent! Both our guides were so knowledgeable and I left knowing so much more about the stars. We had a different experience because it was (very nearly) a full moon so it was a little bit harder to spot some stars or capture the milky way, but.. we got to see the moon. I highly...

We had such a lovely time at the Lake Tekapo Petting Zoo! My family and I stopped by during our visit to the area. The animals were all so gentle and well cared for you can really tell how much love and attention goes into running this place.

Our daughter was absolutely delighted to feed the pigs and give the sheep a gentle cuddle. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. It’s a peaceful, family-friendly spot with stunning views in every direction such a beautiful way to slow down and enjoy a bit of nature and connection.
