Great visit, spur of the moment. We enjoyed some fantastic hot chocolates on this winters morning. The salted caramel was amazing, and the 100% super thick and very strong (I slipped a bit of sugar in 😅). We also enjoyed the 70% PNG origin and my fiancée some white chocolate also. Friendly knowledge staff made a very fun visit. There is a long interesting history of chocolate making in Dunedin well back into the 1800s. Definitely worth supporting a local company and having some ethically sound and delicous locally produced chocolate. A lot more cacao goes into these chocolates than mass produced chocolate (as well as pride and love I'd imagine), which gives it unique depth and flavour depending on origin. 🤩👌 Used some of their 70% PNG on top of a pancake stack at home with blueberry and banana 👌👌

Took the tour, guide is a shareholder but volunteers when others on holiday and knew the story of the collapse of Cadbury which inspired the growth of OCHO intimately. They source ingredients ethically, always researching new flavours and ways of doing things and you gain a 40g bar + 10% discount when you join the tour: book the day before but one of our party missed out as it was almost full. Parking reasonable. Accessibility good - only go to one room which overlooks all three rooms. A guided tasting is involved. Milk products kept separate.

Absolutely amazing bean to bar chocolate, great flavour profile and taste. They have a very nice factory and tasting board for the tour which costs around 20$. I was especially amazed about the chocolate with local herbs in it, forget the name though but all of them are very very delicious and definitely worth the money. The hot chocolate obviously is good too and you get a free 40gr bar when you buy the tour.

Specifically came by for breakfast since we were running out of time in Dunedin. It was a bit hard to find since there was building works and the entrance was partially covered with scaffolding. They specialise in proper chocolate. They have hot chocolate options with different cocoa percentages, the menu on the blackboard beside the counter. They also had cabinet food which also had chocolate in it. It did take a while for the hot chocolates to arrive but when they did you can see why. We had different faces for the three different hot chocolates.I personally found the hot chocolate (the lowest cocoa percentage) a bit too bitter. The flavours were interesting but it too dark for me. The brownie was a bit better but still on the bitter side. THe caramel slice was good especially with the tempered chocolate on top, but it did make it harder to share. This isn't the place for sweet chocolate items. They also sell their chocolate block on the shelves near the counter. A great place for those who love their...

I've visited this shop a few times when I'm in town and it never disappoints. The staff are lovely, attentive, and happy to explain about the different chocolates (including providing samples). The chocolate itself is delicious and really rich. You can even watch them making it in the back room. The hot chocolates are decadent, and the coffee is great. I've tried a few of the baked goods, and again - all superb. Cannot fault this place. If you are in Dunedin, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a little Ocho-Love. (My personal favorite is the H&P. It won't be to everyone's tastes, but I love the herbal fruitiness these pure NZ ingredients impart on the rich dark...
