Neat little cafe, in competition with Vogel st kitchen right next door. In terms of ambience, space, and variety of items, I definitely think I appreciate Vogel st kitchen more. The space is quite small and slightly cramped with close placed tables and high stools mounted next to small square desks-which definitely would not be enough space for me to spread myself out. Apart from that the feel is still nice but would pick other places over this. I got their house smoked salmon bagel and my friend got their orange and maple toasted muesli which were both averagely priced. The portion of my bagel was way smaller than I was expecting. Although it was fresh and tasty, not sure if the price is worth the amount you get. The salmon was well cooked though, not overdone and tender. I just wish there was a bit more. The bagel quality was alright, but honestly I haven't come across a cafe that has bet beam me up's bagels-in both quality and price! 3.5/5 The muesli had a fruit paste (and coconut cream) that accompanied it which was a nice touch, however the muesli itself is just a nutty blend, similar to granola you can purchase at any grocery store. Nothing super unique but tasty, sure. 2.5/5 Alright food, average ambience, service was okay, although I did enjoy my time there catching up with a friend, nothing spectacular stood out to me to warrant another visit. 3.5 food,...
Read moreLove this new cafe...aptly named for the gorgeous building its in, and a cool location. Particularly love the indoor/outdoor concept within the cafe - it was a windy day today but I was able to sit outside in the sun, yet inside sheltered from the wind! They tell me street art is coming to the walls there too which will look amazing. Lovely healthy and tasty food in the cabinet, veges, salads etc yummy, but wasnt so inspired by so many bagel/bready options on the actual menu. Very good coffee, but sometimes I defer to tasty teas and wasn't taken with their options - need a couple of more interesting green options (no plain green) - as many other cafes offer these days. Artemis teas are good but quite strong and one doesnt always want a special tonic tea (the Liver Tonic is def not a pleasure tea to taste)! Overall, very good first impressions and will be back to experience more. Shame you're not open on weekends as your neighbour V.S.Kitchen is big, dark and noisy and Precinct sadly closed too, so the area a bit limited for weekend cafe options. Congrats on a...
Read moreVery disheartening considering all the positive feedback. :( Due to my pregnancy and burger cravings, my husband and I were quite eager to taste it here for the first time. Since I can't handle eating a lot, I just chose the Kid's menu item, the Pork Belly Burger, while my husband got the Lamb Rump. Unfortunately, we were informed by a very kind staff member that WE ARE NOT PERMITTED to buy burgers from the Kid's menu since the CHEF FIRBIDS it and is very particular about what the customer orders. Hearing that truly made us lose our appetite because we had no idea that items on the kid's menu are off limits to grownups???
The kind personnel, who were very accommodating to our request to stick with my order plus the crispy potatoes, is the ONLY thing that kept us from giving this a 0/5 rating. The taste of the lamb rump and burger was so boring that we didn't even enjoy it. I'm not sure if the chef purposefully prepared our meal in that way since we chose items from the kid's menu. I pray that no customer will ever receive the kind of...
