It's a nice little museum with some very interesting pieces shown. in the outside-area there is a garden with sculptures and many benches to hangout. the price was 7 Soles for adults of any nation. one thing i can not understand is: why the descriptions are only in spanish. on the walls there is a lot of space to put the texts in english too. it would be a great upgrade for many tourists visiting Huaraz...

Cool local museum good for those interested in the history, cultures, and archaeology of Ancash. It has a wide collection of stone heads reminiscent of Easter Island, a Wari mummy, and a lanzón totem-like monolith from Chavín. Also a collection of ceramics from pre Incan northern Peru. Good for archaeological enthusiasts and I bet children would find the sculptured head garden...

The museum is very close to the square and costs 6 soles for foreigners and the general public, five soles if you are a Peruvian student, there are several floors where you learn about Andean cultures and there are replicas of crafts, monuments, and there is even a mummy . The museum also has a lithic park just outside where it's worth taking pictures or sitting down to talk, or both. Had nothing to do during the rain and it was a nice past time. Main exhibition about pre-Hispanic cultures in Peru. With artefacts in and outside. Small contemporary exhibition looked as half was forgotten to put on the walls.🤔. Only one small English text.
