I'm an American Expat currently a resident of lovely Portugal, what a great place to live, and Lisbon is an awesome town. I've had phenomenally better pizza while waiting in the Star Alliance lounge in Rome, Italy. The pizza I received from La Pizza Di Nanna had probably been sitting around the shop for hours because it only took 10 minutes to get it from the shop to my apartment which is a 6 minute drive. So there's no way from placing my order to getting it in the hands of the Uber Eats delivery guy that it only took such a short time to bake an entire pizza. Although the pizza did arrive warm, it tasted stale and old. Again, it was probably sitting under a warmer for quite some time, maybe hours, I don't know, all I know is that it tasted old. Also, the sauce was not inspiring, and because the crust tasted like cardboard it's really hard to judge anything else about the flavor. The odd thing about the order was that I ordered a full pan. I'd called ahead and said what I wanted. I put in the largest order on Uber Eats, and 3 small boxes arrived. 2 slices per box, the slices in each box over lapped each other and did not stick together, which is a tell tale sign that the pizza was not fresh and hot when it left the shop. With the delivery charge and a 3 euro tip, each slice was 4,80 euro per slice. Again, the worst pizza I've ever had at the highest price I've ever paid per slice.. This place also does not have a Yelp page which makes me question the integrity of the shop itself. I'd only visited the shop because it looked pretty darned good from an episode of Somebody Feed Phil. On TV, owner looked like a pleasant and fun guy that took a great deal pride in his product, but I was sadly disappointed. I was saddened because I'm pretty easy to please, it's not easy to find pizza I enjoy in Lisbon so I suppose the search continues. Again, maybe you might have a different experience if you go there in person, and if you have a choice to pick up a whole pie, and maybe get a fresh one from the oven. I plan on taking my receipt with me on my next bicycle ride and stop there and complain in person and maybe try a fresh piece while I'm there. As of now, it only gets one dot for my rating. It was my intention to order a whole pizza and get one fresh from the oven to begin with, but no such luck. Life is too short to eat bad pizza. I'll give the owner a second chance and edit my review if my...
Read moreHands down the best pizza in Lisbon! Thin crust, fresh tasting dough and delicious toppings. They have everything from vegetables like zucchini, plain potato and sweet potato toppings, mushroom and onions and eggplant with cheese. They have meat-lovers pizza with ham and cheese and fresh spicy pepperoni (my favorite)! The best is the owner, an extremely nice woman who works behind the counter. My boyfriend and I waited for a fresh baked margarita pizza to be made and she walked outside the pizza shop just to flag us down from across the street (we were waiting in the park) to let us know it was ready! She was the most friendly restaurant owner I've come across throughout my time in Lisbon! Extremely welcoming to foreigners and truly makes you feel at home in...
Read moreAfter weary journey into the city of Lisbon. we stubbled across La Pizza di Nanna. We were hungry and in need of a snack. There was a queue of people outside, so we thought it must be good place to eat. We were impressed with the choices of pizza and with the friendly approach of the lady serving us. There was no place to eat inside, and the lady showed us a lovely shaded park area across from the shop where we could eat. The pizzas tasted good (we had one with mushroom and one with slices of courgette and aubergine). The pizza hit the spot in terms of our hunger. Will definitely go back again if...
