This is a mall, what can I say. Why do I give it five stars? Well unlike most of the malls in America where I live at least this mall is vibrant and every single shop is open. they also have a huge supermarket in it which I did most of my big shopping at while I was staying in San Miguel for 2 weeks. they have a huge food court with lots of different food options which I never went to but if that's your thing you would like it! I actually would have gone there to eat but I couldn't get consensus with the rest of the people in my party i.e. my wife and in-laws. they also have a cool whale that hangs from the ceiling which by sunlight to look at. and lastly they have a pharmacy that is open late that we had to go to when my son got an ear infection and had to go to the ER. So for what it's worth this place gets...

It's a shopping mall/complex so there's the usual mix of shops for clothes, homewares and pharmacy stuff. There's a large supermarket selling some decent stuff, including portuguese hot chicken and has a good sized bakery. The entrance to the mall has a life size sperm whale suspended above the escalators. There's an ex whaling boat on display in the lower mall, which is fascinating to see up close. There's often photo galleries popping up as well. Oh and there's a cinema, which is also quite nice. The food area is pretty comprehensive, with lots of choices, there's the usual, maccy D, burger king, kfc, but there's other choices that may appeal more, such as wok to go, and local Azorean or Portuguese outlets. Just next to the mall is a good sized diy store which is really handy for loads of...

The shopping mall: If you want to go clothes shopping this is where to come. A lot of North American stores, Zara, claires, etc. And the standard restaurants, McDonalds, subway, KFC and Burger King. I believe the supermarket here is the biggest one around. I love shopping at supermarkets when I travel. Usually the best prices for local foods such as cheese, wine, olive oil, local tea, preserves, and coffee, also the best place to buy bottled water. It's a bit of a hike up a hill and is beside the Palace of Sant'ana Garden. The mall wasn't on the map I got from the tourist place, but the Palace was.
