Very few complaints - great spot!
We were seated within ten minutes on a pretty busy day. Servers were attentive, although it took a minute for them to grab our order. Kitchen was excellent at getting things out timely. My latte was tasty and served hot. Loved that it came in a glass (not a mug).
My partner and I each ordered two items : Me : pumpkin pancakes & crunchy bacon LT egg. Partner : smoker salmon with capers & crunchy bacon LT (order 2 extra eggs).
Great presentation all around. Pancakes were both fluffy and thick. The white cream cheese spread was delish. They should have added more tbh. Could have also included more crunch, but overall lovely flavour.
Partner lovedddd the salmon dish! The green sauce was unique, light and punchy. He added an extra 2 eggs and the only complaint was the eggs whites were slightly raw.
Both of us enjoyed the crunchy bacon LT- especially the herby cream cheese spread on the toast.
Hard pressed to not mention the settings which were relaxing, to say the least. Little chicks and ducks walking around. Beautiful trees , fresh air- it was a delight.
One thing : everything goes in the garbage, which was unfortunate given we were in a nature park. Would be nice to have recycling or compost.
All in all,...
Read moreDon’t go here if you only have 1 hour - it will take 30-45min before they take your order, after being seated, and don’t you dare ask them if they could take your order as you’ll get firmly told you have to wait just like everyone else. There are only 10 tables or so, but only one person is allowed to take orders and entering the orders in their software just takes a while.
We don’t understand the rave reviews this place gets… I guess it’s relative to other places on the island, but perhaps it could be the best place for fluffy pancakes on the island.
Many people end up waiting 1-2 hours in high season before they get a table at popular restaurants so with a 45min wait after being seated, but giving it 5 stars seems very counterproductive.
The chickens walking around the place are awesome!
The grub was decent, maybe the best brunch in Ponta Delgada, but nothing to rave about. Coffee is also average.
In general avoid this place in high season if you have less than 2 hours to spend. We went at 10am when it opened on a Tuesday. If you must go, consider going 9.30am to be the first to be...
Read moreThe food is good, but the service is absolutely horrendous. We have now given this restaurant three tries, but will not be going back. The male (manager?) who works there is extremely disorganized and rather rude and acts as if he’s doing you a favor by working there. On all three occasions, we sat there waiting (and waiting!) to have someone come and give us place mats, cutlery and napkins, and waited, and waited and waited to have our order taken, and on two of the occasions the restaurant was less than half occupied. On all three occasions, one female was clearing tables, one female was putting napkins and cutlery into tin cans at a counter, and the male was ringing people up at the cash register and getting food from the kitchen to bring to customers. On our second time there, we saw the four people at the table next to us get up and leave because they were waiting longer than us, and no one ever came to take their order. It is very clear to see that this place needs new / better management and organization. It’s too bad, because the food is tasty and...
