We enjoy Baywest Mall very much. It is a very "Western Cape" feel to its design. Open, spacious and flooded with natural light. So much better than tired, old Walmer Park. Modern and filled with stores of every kind. A fabulous Food Court with a massive screen and plenty of tables and chairs. Baywest do a magnificent job decorating at Christmas time with twinkling, glittering icicle lights hanging down from their Upper Level, like little diamonds. Love it!! Although we are fond of Baywest I must add that either the financial strain of Covid19 is causing some issues or it is simply just "time'"...but I was rather horrified this weekend when we popped into Baywest to go the bank. The ladies loo's were in a bad shape. We are continuously told to wash our hands etc, yet, many of the taps weren't working. Soap was either not available and if it was, it came from a ratty looking, open dispenser! All of the soap dispensers which I saw were open with scratty bits of liquid soap in. I had to walk with soap dripping from my hands from one side of the bathroom to the other as I couldn't find a tap that worked! Then we're told to wash for no less than 20seconds but you can barely get 5seconds worth of water from the tap. There is no hand sanitizer available in the bathroom either. Not a good show guys....now is not the time to slack...
