Pungnyeon Dakdoritang (Spicy Chicken Stew) — Restaurant in Seoul

This Dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken) spot in Bukchang-dong is super famous — and for good reason! The chicken is super fresh and literally melts in your mouth. 😋 The portions are generous, and the flavor is amazing!

Only downside? It gets really loud inside, so it’s not the best place for deep conversations. It’s perfect for 2 to 4 people, but if you come with a bigger group, it’s hard to talk to everyone at once.

A hole in the wall. Many locals go there too. The place is not very spacious so it would be good to go there earlier, at around 5pm. There is only one item on the menu. The chicken stew with potatoes was flavourful and savoury. It was sweet and mildy spicy. The chicken was tender. We added ramyeon and it was an extremely satisfying and yummy meal. Absolutely delicious chicken, soup and fried rice. The soup is slightly spicy with Korean chili sauce, and the chicken is so tender and melts into the mouth. The seaweed fried rice is the cherry on the top, you eat the last after finishing the chicken. The restaurant is super fast in serving the food.
