Yesterday we purchased smoked eel and Artisan butter from Casa Doña Tomasa as we had heard that they have the best gastronomic products of Cantabria…and we were not disappointed. The smoked eel pieces were think and juicy and perfectly smoked. The artisan butter was so delicious and creamy it reminded me of my youth. We served it all on the delicious bread from the 3 Michelin star restaurant Cenador de Amós which can be purchased from their bakery on line. They were awarded the Madrid Fusion-Food Award from Spain for “Best Restaurant Bread”. Such scrumptious food together served with a nice bottle of wine you cannot imagine. We will be back for more!

La tienda está muy bien ubicada y tiene una gran cantidad de productos, bastantes distintos. Desde la calidad típica de los embutidos buenos, a mezclas llamativas y más raras como X producto cubierto de Y y con trozos de Z. Es un sitio muy recomendable por el que pasarse, a como poco, ver lo que hay. Por el lado de trabajadores, la mujer que nos atendió fue muy agradable y simpática. El precio en general es un poco elevado, pero precisamente estás pagando por contenido gourmet y poco común. Muy recomendable y volveremos

He comprado esta lata de sardinas en Doña Tomasa de la calle Hernan Cortes de Santander. El envase intenta hacer creer que las sardinas son de Santoña, localidad Cántabra con fama reconocida en conservas, pero el registro sanitario impreso en la lata corresponde a una empresa de Bueu, Pontevedra y esto no lo puedes comprobar hasta que no sacas la lata del envase de papel. ¿ Me dejaran abrir el envase en la tienda, en el caso de que compre otra vez ?

A Must Visit in Santander if you you really enjoy the best foods at sensible prices. No non-sensically inflated prices here. You get the real authentic artisan gourmet Appreciator who chooses the wines that deliver without ridiculous prices and has all the best local producer's offerings that really deliver that proper flavour when food is real and whole. Plus they are there in the shop! Owner run and attended. You speak to the person who selects from all their experience. Whatever you choose you can know it will be good. Thank goodness this still exists on this planet. Thank you both and your young son who loves his parents as he runs round the shop knowing he's in a real world worthy...
