Hidden gem in plain sight.
It is always such a pleasure to eat at Arla Unika! The place is so beautiful, always a lovely atmosphere. The staff is so welcoming and genuinely nice. The food is made with love by passionate people. The quality is of the highest standards and consistently good (which is so rare!) Some of the dishes that I have tried: The cheese pie: light and fluffy, yet super indulgent. The raw beef: divine! The best chicken salad you'll ever eat (I asked how the chicken could be so good: the chef explained that it's marinated in duck fat, butter and herbs for 24 hours before being grilled just before serving. The food hall is a given but the restaurant with such delicious and great value dinner is a surprise for me. You are welcomed by a great staff in an intimate interior (there’s only a few tables and you’re surrounded by walls of wine bottles). You get to pick from a La crate or pre fixe menu (but they are very accommodating if you have dietary restrictions and want to swap things around). I gotta say, every single cheese we got on our cheese board was just amazing — all Danish. The ravioli was probably one of the best ones I’ve ever had. The cheese plate was extremely good - particularly the blue and the hard cheese. The dishes from the guest chef were visually appealing, but didn't quite deliver on flavour or texture. I would have rather had a second cheese plate.
I assume as there was a guest chef in residence that the regular menu is different and I would return to try that.
The service from our waiter was very good, particularly as he had about 20 guests to serve...
