Very well located. The general hotel facilities are ok, except the parking lot, which is cramped. There's breakfast, which is very nice. The bed in the room was very comfortable. The good stuf list ends here however. The climate control on the wall did not work, seems to be for decoration only. The room we booked had a bathroom in which it was nearly impossible not to wet the entire floor when taking a bath. I've chosen this hotel because it advertises having a paid parking garage, and you have to book for a parking spot in advance, which I did. When I arrived, there were no useable spots, as the only one empty was blocked by a pile of garbage. Hotel staff offered little to no help in this regard, and I was forced to park in a space that blocked two other cars. In a personal effort to create as less problems as possible, I informed the hotel staff about this and left the car key at the hotel counter so they could maneuver my car to free the other ones if needed, which they accepted. This was useless however, as the counter called me early in the next morning asking me to hurry to maneuver the car. I asked: "can someone from the staff do it?" To which they replied: "no, we are not allowed to do it". What?? Why the hell did they accepted to keep the keys there then? Think twice before booking this hotel if you're planning to use the parking space. The hotel staff has no control of parking usage, and random guests seem to frequently park their cars there without the hotel's consent, and you may end without the...
Read moreI didn’t expect to love this hotel as much as I did, but from the moment I stepped inside, I was charmed! This boutique hotel feels like a well-kept secret—cozy, stylish, and full of personality.
The lobby is adorable, lined with books and dotted with comfortable seating areas, giving it a relaxed, literary vibe. There’s even a spot for live music! The check-in desk was quirky (pay attention, or you might miss it). I’ve never seen a check in desk set up that way. Some of the furniture showed signs of wear but for the most part it’s a nice set up.
The included breakfast was delicious, the spread was packed with everything you could want: fresh fruit, bread, cheeses, meats, pancakes, bacon, sausages, cereal, yogurt… and it all tasted great!
The rooms are small (think cruise ship cabin-style), but cleverly designed so they never feel cramped. I thought it was fine but my husband felt it was too small. The beds were incredibly comfortable with soft, clean sheets, a warm down comforter, and the fluffiest pillows. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, though note there’s no fridge or microwave if you need to store leftovers.
One of the coolest touches? A map of the area on the ceiling—such a fun detail! I kept telling my husband, “I don’t know why I love this place so much—maybe the cozy room, the decor, or just the overall vibe—but I do!”
Would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend for a unique, intimate, and surprisingly...
Read moreI loved my stay at Mornington. My visit to Stockholm was a special one, and it was made even more memorable by my choice of accommodations. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome. Mornington has a lovely lobby that looks very European chic, with a little library area off to one side and the dining area on the other side. Since it was a solo trip, I booked a room with a twin bed and it was a nice and cozy little room with laminate wooden floors and simple yet refined furnishings. The bathroom was very contemporary and clean, with a "towel warmer" for your towels that I've never seen in any lodging I've been in before. For the night owls, Mornington has a very secure night entrance that requires access with your keycard (which also accesses the elevators to the rooms as well) so that not just anybody can come wandering in off of the street. Breakfast was a lovely buffet-style spread and had everything to nourish you for your day out and about, from eggs and bacon to yogurt and pastries. The hotel had some reasonable rates as well as within a fair walking distance to places like Vasa Museet and the waterfront. All in all, I had a spectacular time staying here. I would love to stay here again one day. Layla and Urban were especially very helpful in assisting me with my various needs throughout my short stay in Stockholm. I want to say a very special thanks to them as well for their help. I...
