📍 Oeschinensee Hike @ Kandersteg, Switzerland Alpine Lake Hike with Stunning Panoramas 🥾🏞️

We took the cable car from Kandersteg up and began our hike to the gorgeous Oeschinensee—one of the most stunning alpine lakes in Switzerland. The trail from the upper station to the lake is easy and well-marked, taking around 25–30 minutes on foot through lush meadows and forested paths.

🏞️ The Hike: • Route: Gondola mountain station → Oeschinensee lake • Duration: ~25–30 min walk (easy), or take the electric shuttle (CHF 10 one way) if needed • Views: Crystal-clear turquoise lake, surrounded by towering cliffs and snow-dusted peaks

🥾 We chose to hike the lake loop, exploring various viewpoints around the lake. The trail is peaceful with fewer crowds beyond the restaurant area, and you can even find spots for a quiet picnic or a dip in the lake on warmer days.

🧭 Tips: • Bring a jacket even in summer—weather can change quickly. • Start your hike early in the day for clearer skies and fewer tourists. • Don’t forget to book the cable car boarding pass online in advance during peak season (summer).

There was no staff waiting at the gondola turnstile. For this reason, we passed without showing my child's Junior Pass. I couldn't stop the line while thousands of people were waiting behind me. When we passed through the turnstile, an employee from ahead came to us and started yelling "You will show your card before you pass, not after you pass!" while hitting the turnstile with his fist very violently. I showed my daughter who was holding the card in her hand to show it and told him that no employee was here at the time. He started yelling "I can't stand here for 8 hours". In order not to upset my daughter who was already scared and not to disrupt the line, I said I didn't want any trouble and continued. The only reason we chose this route and paid this fee was to have a nice and happy time in nature as a family. It is truly unacceptable that an employee who does not follow his duty because he is not happy with the working conditions terrorizes a family with children. His terrible behavior definitely does not fit the culture of this beautiful country where we live in peace. I hope that Kandersteg Oeschinensee AG will take the necessary measures regarding...

Actually there are no words to describe enough this great place, one of the top places you must visit in winter or summer. You will spend an incredible day. It is very beautiful to go there in winter for winter sports (ski, walk by snowshoe, walk to the lake and ice skating at the lake of its frozen enough). In summer time, it's completely different than winter, nice view to the mountains where they are completely green,flowers everywhere and very beautiful lake with turquoise blue water, plus there is a toboggan (mountain coaster). Hiking is one of the best thing to do in summer, there are different paths to hike, some are short and some are long. The long path could take around 9hours from the cable car point till the lake. Need a good shoose and dressed up well. if ever you want you can have a shower under the lovely waterfall. If you don't prefer to walk to the lake, then they make it easy for you, just take the bus 😊. Small options for lunch or snacks since there are a small spots. Wc are...
