Fethiye Tuesday Market is one of the largest and most vibrant open-air markets in the region, attracting both locals and tourists. Set up every Tuesday near the main bus station in the town center, the market offers a wide range of products—from fresh produce to textiles and handmade goods.
The market operates from 8:00 AM to around 5:00-6:00 PM. You can find everything here: fresh fruits and vegetables, clothing, textiles, spices, local handicrafts, household items, and more. There are also food stalls and small eateries serving traditional Turkish dishes, fresh juices, pastries, and more.
Bargaining is common, especially for non-fixed-price items like clothes, textiles, and souvenirs. Sellers usually expect customers to negotiate, but it's important to do so respectfully and fairly.
The market is centrally located and easily accessible on foot or by public transportation. Since it can get crowded during peak hours, it's recommended to visit early and, if possible, use public transport. Also, most vendors prefer cash payments, so carrying some Turkish Lira with you is a good idea.

Read moreWe came here on the bus from Calis. The bus driver announced the stop when it was time to get off, so it was very easy to find. Going back, we just crossed the road to get the bus back. You will find a large number of restaurant/cafes at the entrance to the market, all set up for the day, serving gozleme, Turkish tea, orange juice and a variety of other food and drinks, with plenty of pickles to go with your meals. There is also one other cafe further back in the market. One side of the market focuses on clothes, handbags, jewellery etc and another herbs, spices, Turkish delights and teas. Another area sells fruit, vegetables and plants. You can also buy various handmade wooden items made from olive wood, such as chopping boards, pestle and mortars, and a variety of cooking utensils at varying prices, they also do deals if you buy more than one item, although there is less room for haggling than in previous times. I would recommend setting aside one day for this trip. There is also a toilet block on the way into the market, over the bridge, just after you pass the cafes going in, for a very small charge, but be sure to pick up your toilet paper on the way in, or carry your...
Read moreWe highly recommend this local market for their affordable prices. We have been going to this market weekly for a month now & they always have everything we need for our meals. We particularly enjoy their olives & cheeses, which create a fantastic cheese platter.
We enjoyed a lovely Turkish breakfast, we ordered 2 different types of gozleme, a meat & spinach and a cheese, mushroom, tomato & olive gozleme, with fresh orange juice.
The staff are friendly and accommodating. We dont speak Turkish but they were patient by using hand signals or Google Translate.
One tip is to shop around the stalls and compare prices. Each stall offers different products with varying prices. For instance, there are over 20 stores and the prices for tomatoes can range from 10TL to 45TL, depending on the quality.
Additionally, the convenience of having a carpark available and a nearby bus stop is a bonus.
