Do not sign up for this gym, don’t even sign up for a trial. They won’t tell you the details of the contract unless u specifically ask, which locks you into a 12 month contract they REFUSE to relieve you from even if you give them valid reasons or if you have no money. If you don’t have the money and ask to terminate your contract they threaten you with debt collectors. I was loyal to this gym for 3 years and got treated this way by the staff when I asked to leave. I even had to have my account on freeze because I moved away and they wouldn’t let me leave the gym. If your account is frozen and you’re not going to the gym THEY STILL MAKE YOU PAY £5 PER MONTH FOR NOTHING. They are disgusting, money hungry, predatory company. I started my contract before I was 18 and they still enforce it. This is very telling of the ethics and morals of the staff there and also the entire company.

Anytime fitness deserves to be boycotted for its predatory and entrapping contracts and procedures. It has lied about its investments also claiming an absurd amount of money has been put into renovation, which evidently it has not. the machines you want are broken, more than half the showers are out of use, the sun beds are straight from another time period and the toilets are more often than not broken. So explain where the money has gone.

If you want to cancel your membership you have to go through the lengthiest process all for the staff to repeatedly lie to you and manipulate you into continuing despite you not wanting to. They charge for leaving fees, frozen fees, late fees, every single fee you can imagine to make your experience a living hell.

The staff pretend like they are friends with you and chat to you, but in reality they are tools of the company and will turn on you if you want out, not giving you the common decency of relieving you of your contract.

Shame on...

During my ~5 months in anytime fitness, the level of service provided as well as the experience in the gym has absolutely phenomenal. Amazing employees they have for sure.

However, the reason I have not put it as a 5 star is due to the fact that many equipments I have come across have been poorly maintained if not some are in a dire condition. For examples some of the weights are badly damaged where the edges are broken off and is altering is the real weight from the displayed weight. Hopefully, they invest in new weights to replace the badly damaged ones. They also have very limited machines for certain part of the muscle of the body such as currently the core as one machine is broken. Finally this is a minor problem, but for me personally the platform for the deadlift seems unbalanced and I hope they fix something small like that as it gets annoying to adjust the bar. Also there always seems to be a leakage from the roof.

To summarise it all, lovely service and employees but some equipments need replacing due to its bad condition and hopefully they add more machine for more availability. And maybe they fix the the uneven (potentially...

Completely disgusting money hoarding company. I went to this gym for 3 years and when money gets tight they refuse to relieve you from your contract and INSIST you pay for months of fees where you never attended. Don’t try to freeze your account BECAUSE THEY STILL CHARGE YOU. Endless phone calls to sort out billing issues that never should happen in the first place. And don’t even try to say you’re moving away and cannot be part of the gym anymore because they won’t terminate your contract if there is another gym WITHIN 16 MILES. This company is untrustworthy and ridiculous. You are better off trying to get yourself permanently banned from the site than trying to get out of the contract like a normal person by asking. One day you’re signing up for a 7day trial, the next thing you know your locked into a 12 month contract. Terrible customer service and care. And don’t try to say you don’t know who I am or I have never been to this gym because I have all the receipts I need. You’re going to have to call a debt collector to come and get the money I supposedly...
