Caffè Nero — Restaurant in Ashford

Got trapped in disabled toilet! (Went to use the facility prior to my proposed purchase of a tea and skinny cappuccino.) Locking bolt got stuck. Had to kick the door open! Staff member (lone) thank god was alerted by the only other customer in coffee shop who was sitting near by having his coffee. (Paul) alerted the female staff member of my plight. I saw the funny side as soon as I realised what had happened 😂 I had to use the DT as it was the last hour of trading and the specific male toilets are locked during the hour of trading. The female staff member told that she works alone for the last hour! I got a free coffee and tea and 2 fully stamped free drinks cards once I had released myself . (Melek the staff member told me she had been assaulted recently whilst lone working!! 5 stars for staff member and Paul. 1 star for Nero maintenance team. Kicking the door open was fun, never anything like done that before. Suffice to say won't be using the toilet facilities there again 🤣🤣🤣

On a more serious note if an actual disabled customer had been locked in, rather than I, they would no doubt would have been trapped in their for longer than I and would I expect found it very distressing indeed.

So Neros up your game on maintenance and for the sake of staff safety rethink your lone working policy, as in don't leave staff...

I love Nero’s coffee and food, I prefer sitting at Nero even though there are other coffee shops around: Good price for quality. I’ve been in the uk for 18 years, visiting Nero for 18 years too! That said, I won’t be visiting this one, ever!!! My latest visit was with my partner and kid. My partner ordered the coffee and food and left(took their take away with them) and I stayed to sit. I was planning to leave too but rain started to pour more, so I decided to eat the food inside. When I asked for tissues, the counter lady spat at me saying I paid for take away! In an empty café nevertheless! To the lady at the counter: Where are your manners? Can’t you kindly ask and tell me my partner paid for takeaway for everyone that I might need to pay the difference?!!! I was coming to your cafe at least 3 times a week, I always pay “sit in” price and how big of a deal it is if it’s paid take away without...

I got the pistachio drink that was advertised outside the store and it came out looking nothing like what i was expecting. The barista seemed new at the time as she looked confused with what she was doing and took a long time with the drink in general, and finally handed me a green sludge in a cheap plastic cup that looked nothing like the picture, nor was there any distinct taste to the drink and tasted plain and lacklustre.
