While a major draw was the TK Maxx which moved across the road and down a lane quite a long time ago, Castle Court is still a very good place to shop and relax in. As going shopping is quite a challenge or hardship for me, that the stores are in one place helps.
As well as little clothes stores etcetera it's easy to top up home needs in Superdrug, Holland & Barrett and a few others all in the one place. I've found myself in here last minute before holidays. Also unexpectedly I found nearly everything I needed in the Poundland one summer for camping at a small fraction of what I thought I'd have to pay. (Still have the decent quality stuff years later!) Designers at Debenhams is a really good draw, because the stuff is nice quality for old, familiar sized people, not the stick insects from catwalks which shops not too far away sell clothes to. Also affordable, and Debenhams' sales can be very good.
My only comment, and what would make a better star rating, is that I've always thought what this place needs to satisfy people coming in casually is a bar counter. Perhaps like Newcastle Metro Centre's cocktail bar. Lots of food options, but a decent bar counter around or near the food court would be a draw, and give the right frame of mind for window shopping and the odd purchase. Also a licensed, first floor at the front with the Royal Avenue view instead of just a coffee or a tea would improve the place. The bars around here are all a bit traditional and dark for a relaxing drink...

Read moreIf only this centre had more filled units it would be the ideal one stop shop. I really like this centre, because the service I get wherever I chose to shop, is always warm, friendly & helpful. I've got to mention two stores particularly. First is Debenhams. I shop often in the cosmetic dept because the girls are so helpful & boy do they know their stuff. Whether I'm needing advice, a makeover etc... the girls are amazing & so friendly. I've been to other stores & it was ok but hey ... if you want to feel even better than your looking ... it had to be my Debenhams. The other store (& one I've only started using from Oct) you gotta visit Dorothy Perkins. I was totally surprised by the choices & prices in this store. Everything I've bought from boots to jackets has been commented & complimented on by friends & colleagues who have thought I've spent a lot more elsewhere lol. While shopping the centre do urself favour & grab a coffee at Del Peiros in the mall. OMG this had to be the best cappuccino in Belfast & served up with the best staff around. Forget ur preconceptions folks. If ur looking for a real, honest & happy shopping trip u need...
