Caution: potential scam, questionable professionalism. I booked this apartment for 3 nights as I was supposed to attend a medical conference. A week after placing the booking, they called me asking to pay a deposit of 250 pounds days in advance of my booking. A deposit to cover any damages is understandable and fairly common. I was more than willing to pay for it, as I had done in other bookings previously. The problem arose when they asked me to pay the deposit without seeing the flat or having an inventory. They kept asking me to trust them and their cleaning team. When I insisted on the inventory, they said they don't have inventories as it's not feasible for the large amount of items in their flats. I kept wondering how the cleaning team could then track what's missing or damaged. I finally told them that I was willing to pay the deposit at check-in when I can actually see the status of the flat and take pictures as a reference (something that I believe they should do, not me). Its central location is terrific for sightseeing and restaurants ,walking distance to lots of attractions.|On arrival we discovered our washing machine wasn't working, we have been travelling and needed to do some washing. We made a call and management had a technician around and fixed the problem.|We went out for dinner , when we arrived home at 10 pm discovered we had no heating or hot water. Management were not contactable by phone after 5pm? It was March and very cold . We emailed them that night, we rang a number of times after 9am leaving messages with no reply . We rang a third time and we're able to speak to a staff member who said that someone would be there when possible. Both issues were fixed that day when we were out. When we checked out the next morning we emailed and enquired about compensation they responded promptly and positively and provided adequate compensation. |We really liked the apartment and not withstanding the issues we would stay there again. The staff were nice and friendly, and one person was nice enough to fix the air con. Generally, it all looks nice(ish), but it won’t be long until you start noticing how dirty the place is. ie dusty, floors not hoovered, cob webs in the room, etc.
The room we stayed in was ok, however they don’t clean the room unless you request it. We requested it three times, and the room was only cleaned twice in five days. And even then they only emptied the bins and made the beds (didn’t change the sheets). I’m not convinced they changed the sheets since the previous person, as there was a hair on a pillow on arrival.
The toilet smelt of urine when we arrived, and wasn’t clean at all while we were staying.
The window did not open, so the only fresh air came in via the airflow system, which we struggled to get working properly.
Considering how expensive it was for a 3 star hotel, they could have done better.
Apart from that, it was fine. I doubt I’ll be staying...
