This is a pub located in the Cathedral quarter with a fair bit of history behind it. It also serves some nice quality beers from local brewer Boundary brewery, and their fruity stout is class and reasonably priced at under a fiver. Guinness is currently £6. Note: you can't use cash here, which goes against my beliefs if I'm honest. The one thing I don't want to see is everyone being forced to use bank cards. That's the way of corporate fascism and is something I oppose. I hope the John Hewitt rethink this policy.
Not really much craic or atmosphere here as many folks drinking here don't tend to be locals and personally to me it felt like a bit of a hipster gaff but the Irish trad sessions are great and the barmen serving were fairly decent and welcoming. Our server kindly pointed out the lunch specials and these two together normally cost £19 but with the lunch deal only cost £12. We ordered and paid up front at the bar and our food came out shortly after. It was delicious. Great portions and just tasted so fresh. The basil pesto on the burger was amazing 👏 Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu particularly the lasagne bites. It was early on in the day about 12ish and the pub was nice and quiet with a few lunch time pinters beginning to congregate as we were leaving. Drinks selection was good with lots of different beers etc to try but alas i stuck to pepsi. Franky's Lasagneria at the John Hewitt - superb! #lasagneria #thejohnhewitt #belfast...

We step into this little pub looking place to get a quick Guinness and use the toilets. After ordering the Guinness, find out it’s an actual brewery. Why am I ordering a Guinness at a brewery?
We got the Lying for Attention hazy IPA and the PUCA sour. Delicious! Best non-Guinness beers we’ve had on this Island. What a fantastic find!
We didn’t get a chance to try the food. It looked good, but a little more than we wanted to eat before boarding the train away.
Highly recommend on the weight of the...
