Another little gem in Birmingham. Afghani food and able to cater even the fussiest taste buds. Want a mild balti / medium / or a ring hole burner? No problem. The venue has just been re-done and the turn over is so large that hygiene does become an issue. However you must understand when hundreds of people are in and out it’s not easy to clean every nook and cranny. We all come for the food yes? Now before you all run away please read further. Order anything and it’s freshly made. I had a chicken balti and a mutton (medium). I kept an eye when it was being cooked and noticed it was freshly made. They have family rooms which was nice so u can go relax without fear of everyone looking at you. Although I have never had issues (Muslim family)
When you’re kids eat the food you know it’s good!!! I loved the mutton, it’s soft and perfect especially with the spices they use. This has been my fourth trip this year and I plan to come again Because of the large turn over the food is indeed freshly cooked. You will not find anything just sat for half a day on the counters. I spent an hour and noticed x 2 they had to bring more rice and curry and waiting times were extended as a reason. Try this place and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Lamb or mutton is what I...
Read moreHIDDEN PRICES! AVOID! Went here for what I can say with full certainty, the first and last time! Absolutely ridiculous! Our order was calculated using their menu - to the nearest pound around £35 - that is by over calculating by adding every item up to the nearest pound. We were charged £47!!! I don't know what menu they were using to charge us but it definitely wasn't the one they gave us to order from! Absolutely ridiculous and disgusted by the extortion - that too, in the month of Ramadan. Water was also knocked over by the waiter on to my 7 year old who was then frozen cold throughout the whole meal! No attempt to apologise, rectify or compensate for this by the staff, just left him sitting there frozen cold. And if that wasn't reason enough not to go, the food was drenched in oil - that's all you could taste. The management was only using manners and politeness with the regular non asian customers. Honestly, save your money and don't bother to go here. No wonder it's...
Read moreFirstly I wouldn't even give the 1 star I was forced to give on here. I travelled all the way from London to eat at Khyber pass after reading the fantastic reviews which I now know to be fake. The restaurant was dead and only 1 waiter who looked like he just woke up took our order. After 15mins the food came out. We ordered 1 cheese nan. 1 pilau rice 1 balti keema and poppadoms. The naan came out like a calzone folded up with cheese in between and burnt. This is not what you call a cheese nan. The rice came out on a tea cup saucer so you can imagine the portion size. The waiter then asked if I wanted a plate to eat on.. I'm like OBVIOUSLY!!! The food was not nice at all. I am so so disappointed. You need to seriously up your game mate.. otherwise shut down. Anyone who likes this place I dare you to order a...
