I went today for the first time, I had signed up in October but kept forgetting to go into the store. I walked in and there's a desk right there, indicating that's where you should wait for a member of staff to complete signing up for a membership. After just a few minutes, someone came to help me and she was super helpful! I was done and had my membership card in under 5 minutes.
I have seen posts about this store on social media, and from my first visit (I walked around the entire store) I will say it's not completely up to the hype. There are definitely bargains here and there, and I'd say its worth going and signing up if you can. However it's not as if you could expect a full food shop or a boat load of bargains. Some things were even more expensive (although not by a whole lot) than other stores- but that's bound to happen, I suppose. I mean, when theres 500g mince for £1 that I picked up today, I'd say it's worth a visit before the weekly/ monthly food shop to see what you can find at a better price than other stores.
Definitely take a look at the fruit and veg section aswell, as I got some good deals there. Also, there are some "buckets" of just very reduced items to look through, and although it looks messy, it's well worth looking through! Theres some really good bargains and well known brands in there. I also couldn't spot any detergent or fabric conditioner etc in the regular aisles, but I found them in the "buckets".
Finally, it's accessible from public transport which is very useful! It's a short, under ten minute walk from the bus stop and has a clearly displayed pedestrian entrance. Trolleys don't require a £1 coin either. I'll definitely be going to this shop more to get a better idea of what they have to offer, and will update...
Read moreCompany shop is located on the old British federal estate and is a brand new building with a lot of space. Getting to company shop is easy to get to. From Birmingham or Wolverhampton direction it's on the a4123 Birmingham new road and is literally a stones throw from black Country museum so it's easy to locate. With large security fencing, the car park is quite large and always more than enough space no matter what time you go there. To shop there, you have to be a member and not everyone can be accepted. You have to either work in certain sectors or be in receipt of certain benefits to be accepted. Once inside, it's very large and spacious with very helpful, friendly staff who we help you should you need to. There's always someone on hand to help no matter what it is. The quality of goods is very high, and 99% of the goods are always well in date with some great deals always on display. They sell a lot of branded items as well as shop own brand at really cheap prices that's suitable for everyone's pocket. You have to go regularly as deals change all the time with new stock arriving all the time and they don't stay on the shelves for long either. It's well worth a visit to see what's for sale on that day wether it's fresh food or tinned or toiletries. If your looking to see if they stock certain things, give them a ring first. Once you have joined, visit their Facebook page for all the latest items that...
Read moreBeen there twice now. The first time we found many bargains. It's very busy by the fridges and the best bargains were snapped up as soon as they were put on the shelves. The 6 item limit is appropriate as some were grabbing what they could and I've already seen people refused from buying more than 6 items. Items either have short life, end of line or are misshaped or damaged in some way. The second visit wasn't so good. Fridges were bare and weren't restocked while we were there. While some products are a bargain, not everything is. It might be cheaper than the original supermarket, but some items are just a bit cheaper. You'll still save, but it's less of a wow factor. If you are eligible, there is nothing to lose. But I wouldn't make a special trip. Staff are brilliant. Although they're very busy, they're very...
