I honestly don't know why anyone shops here. I'd have second thoughts on doing my weekly shop here even if I had a hefty employee discount and had to walk a mile across town to Sainsbury's at the end of my shift. If you shop here you should have more self respect, choose a better supermarket. Anyway, I popped in for a wee because Morrisons is conveniently located on my route back from the train station. The first problem was that the gents were taped off and unavailable. In retrospect I really should have taken a photo. I took issue with the standard of the workmanship of whoever applied said tape. It looked like a toddler tried to gift-wrap chaos. Definitely a product of a 'that'll do' mindset. The disabled toilets were available (initially I thought luckily). With reference to my first photo, apparently the toilet had been cleaned 30 minutes ago, or at least signed off as acceptably clean. It was not. I'm not going to blow it out of proportion and say that the was awful. It wasn't like there was excrement everywhere. But there was a liberal scattering of rubbish across the room, an empty soap dispenser and no paper towels. It all led to me feeling taunted by that signature. More of the 'that'll do' mindset that I mentioned earlier. And it just seemed to sum up everything that's wrong with the Morrisons brand at the moment. Who-ever signed that piece of paper has clearly given up and stopped caring. From that point forward I became acutely aware that so had 50% of the customers and 90% of the staff. I will make reference to the unusual stench of wee as I think it warrants mention. It wasn't the 'normal' toilet smell that as a 45 year old man I've become desensitized to, more like mildly buttered popcorn that’s been left out in the sun too long—slightly sweet, but carrying the unmistakable hint of something that just shouldn’t be there. Someone needs to sort that out. The rest is just a lost cause. I would have given a one-star review, but I've added an extra star for the tempting deal on an egg chair that I saw as I...
Read moreWhat is happening to Morrisons at Taunton? At times it is almost impossible to find a parking space because so many people park for free and then pop into town leaving very few spaces for Morrisons customers. When one gets into the store it is quite usual to find some of the items needed not on the shelf. We visited today (Saturday) at around midday - bear in mind the snow was a week ago so that is no excuse for lack of deliveries. Topside publicised as being on offer for Mothers Day - none in store "did not get a delivery", silverside did not look very good so we went to get our meat from local farmers shop at Chard instead because they alway have what we want and quality is first class. Wanted Aunt Bessies frozen parsnips - none in store not even their own brand but they did have some fresh ones left so we bought those but not all our family like parsnip which is why we buy frozen and just cook a few. Caster sugar - none on shelf, spoke to another customer who was looking for same product. Kellys dairy ice cream - we bought the last one in the freezer. Many of the shelves were bare in places and even the freezer stocks were low. Virtually every time we visit we find at least two items on our list not on the shelves and these are every day items. The staff at Morrisons are brilliant and we always used to rate it the best store in the area it is just a shame that it has gone downhill so much, especially with stock control and...
Read moreWe arrived at the store at 5pm (3/9/22) for use of the cafe facilities which on the website states closes at 6.30 pm. Upon entry we discovered the cafe was actually closed,I spoke to customer services and was told its closed due to 1 member of staff being off ill, you're a national company and have only small team and no cover. So I went to the pizza counter the staff member was some distance from me but I called out she didn't look at me but she reacted, she walked to the sink and took 5 minutes to wash her hands then went to the bin and spent 2 minutes drying her hands with paper towel excessively. Afterwards i spoke to her again, she looked at me then spoke. She displayed a very poor attitude treated me as an inconvenience and tried her hardest several times to put me off selecting a products from the counter. I went away and came back for my pizza collection and she was again very rude, unhelpful and treated me like a nuisance, I asked for some cheese in addition to my pizza that was located 10 steps away and she was very unwilling, she picked up my selected item I thanked her and wished her a good evening, before I had finished saying have a good evening she had turned her back and walked away. I reported this to the checkout supervisor who was with other colleagues I hope this has been passed on. Customer service in any business is critical to a positive customer experience, in this instance I recieved...
