I have previously shopped once or twice at Seoul Plaza in St Johns without any issues as I just got on with my shopping. However, my experience this time was different. I saw a shopping trolley (that belonged to the supermarket opposite Seoul Plaza) down by the fountain at Williamson Square and thought I would kindly push the trolley back for them. I passed Seoul Plaza and one of their staff members rushed out and said to give her their trolley back (back to Seoul Plaza) which doesn't make sense as it belonged to the supermarket opposite, but she claimed they had let them use their trolleys (no idea if this is true or not). I explained the situation but the staff member was adamant the trolley was theirs and kept harassing me for the trolley back and when I tried to leave, the staff member grabbed my arm and wouldn't let go (in the eyes of the law, this is considered assault) and said I was like a homeless thief stealing their trolley away (this is an absolute insult to actual homeless people!) but I said I hadn't even stepped foot in their store that day. The staff member would not let go and threatened to call the police. Luckily, I still had my wits through the shock and said it was fine to call the police as there were witnesses around and to go get their manager to check the CCTV for proof.
They didn't call the police but the manager did check the CCTV and saw that I was indeed telling the truth - I was only passing by outside and hadn't stepped foot in their store.
Soeul Plaza needs to hire better people as staff since they do represent the company. If this is how they treat existing customers as well as potential new ones, assaulting them and accusing them of being a thief without actually seeing it happen or have proper proof is bad for business. I hope this never happens to anyone else as it was deeply...
Read moreABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! I took my son's to Seoul Plaza, one of them for the first time, we were looking forward to getting a good weeks worth of shopping as they now have a butcher and the freezers are finally up and running.I was followed around the shop by two of the staff, but when I say followed, they were literally 2 feet away from me and my son's the whole time. As a person with mental health issues I got very paranoid about what was happening, I even asked what the matter was and didn't get any answer, just blank stares and more following. At one point when I kept asking what the matter was, the butcher decides he will join in and make things worse. It was so degrading having people follow me all the way around the shop like I was some sort of thief and with so many people in the shop watching the whole scene unfold. In the end I just bought what I had picked up at the start of the shop and left. YOUR BEHAVIOUR WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. If I could give you negative stars believe me you would have a...
Read moreGreat shop for everything Korea in Geocities, some snacks, and candy. I love the selection of instant noodles, sauces, and garnishes. The staff are always glad to help which is not always the case in asian shops so it's never really awkward!
They also have a fresh meat section as well as a frozen section filled with meats, fish, and steam buns.
However, the real crown goes to their hot food. Their hot bowls are amazing! Fried chicken, tteokbokki, braised meats, or tofu, all of them make you want to keep coming back. You don't even need to get rice, you can just have a bowl of toppings! At roughly £8 for a large bowl of a base + 2 toppinga, how can you not return?
In addition, the fridge next to the hot food served fresh gimbaps at a reasonable...
