I'm writing to share my recent disappointing experience after having been a loyal and satisfied customer of your restaurant in the past. My previous visits were wonderful, which is why this one was so frustrating.
My party of four (my partner, parents, and I) dined with you recently on a Tuesday evening around 4:45 PM. When we were seated, we were informed that the table would be needed back by 6:00 PM, which we readily agreed to as it suited our schedule.
The issue began almost immediately. Our host rushed us to put in our food order with an urgency that felt truly uncomfortable. We were given barely a minute to look at the menu before the host returned, stressing that we needed to order immediately to ensure the table would be free by 6:00 PM. While I appreciate efficiency, being pressured to order so quickly, after just sitting down, made us feel unwelcome. It would be kind to allow guests a minimum of five minutes to comfortably review the menu.
We placed our order with our server, who unfortunately did not write anything down and subsequently brought the wrong wine. Fortunately, my mother enjoyed the unexpected selection. They also forgot our salad.
Our two pasta dishes were brought out incredibly fast, which was appreciated, but the speed seemed to come at the expense of quality. Both pastas were noticeably undercookedânot al dente, but genuinely hard. While we ate the food to avoid further fuss, my family later agreed that the overall experience and quality were not worth the price.
I understand that managing reservations and table turnover is crucial, but it should not come at the cost of providing a good experience for your current, seated guests. Being rushed and served undercooked food overshadowed what was supposed to be a nice family dinner.
I was genuinely sad and disappointed, as I truly liked this restaurant before this visit. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning. I strongly urge the kitchen staff to please cook the pasta properly for...
Read moreVery disappointing evening tonight. I had booked for 3 at 1800 hours and was rung to confirm the booking and told I had an hour. I arrived at 1800 to find that the two other guests had been seated early because they had arrived early. We placed our order and the food arrived around 1825 .The quality of the food was more than acceptable, better quality than the chains but very similar to all the other independent pasta restaurants locally . I had the aubergine parmigiana and although tasty was surprisingly small for a supposed main course so I called the waiter over to order some focaccia and another two glasses of wine Unfortunately this led to a series of very unpleasant altercations . Just 40 minutes into my booking I was told I couldnât order any more food or drinks because we had to give the table back at 1745. In essence I was being punished for my friends arriving early and more importantly when they were seated early they were not informed that the 60 minute stop watch had started , if they had been made aware they would have waited until 1800 until I arrived . Begrudgingly our order was taken and bearing in mind we had to give the table back the drinks and focaccia didnât arrive for another 10 minutes. Meanwhile the manager came over and made it very clear that he thought we were being unreasonable and that we needed to leave, of note I was still within the hour of my booking . In the end we left the table finished our wine outside and left . Iâm often in the area and eat out regularly but will never return . If you want a quick plate of pasta before a show in all fairness this place will deliver . If you fancy three courses and a couple of glasses of wine go somewhere else . And I have to agree with the previous review regarding the focaccia.. the cubes were very reminiscent of the weaning rusks I bought years ago ! Such a shame our evening was spoilt like this .. all...
Read moreMy colleagues and I walked in hoping to have a quick lunch and, even though there were no tables available, they kindly made space for the three of us. We sat down and were kindly greeted by the staff, who was amazing throughout our time there. There were some fantastic options, so it was difficult to choose but I landed on the pumpkin ravioli with sage butter which was amazing. The pasta was the perfect portion and the balance between the sweet pumpkin flavour and the herby sage was on point! My colleagues and I were really curious to try their mini doughnuts and they ended up being the star of the show! Warm and creamy pistachio filling, sweet but crunchy outside, sprinkled with some powdered sugar and paired with a genuine pistachio ice cream. Overall, this was an amazing lunch experience in Soho. Affordable but without compromising on taste and service. Would...
