When I'm traveling, train or airplane, I prefer to read a book rather than watch movies or play with apps and social media. Why I am saying this? I need to buy a book for the rest of my travel, I was looking for a bookstore. I found a few around my hotel, I went to 3 of them to see what is available for my taste. This one is a nice local bookshop, while you may not find many options and titles, still good and above-average, and of course much better than a typical airport book kiosk. The bookstore assistant was helpful and polite. Negative? I wish they had a better topic variety to choose from; and, their price was more than my expectation.

This bookshop actually feels like an independent bookshop, with a section of books that are specifically dedicated to Brick Lane or East London. Loved also that there was a whole shelf dedicated to feminism. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. It was a little too crowded, but to be expected for midday on a Sunday. I couldn't really browse all the books, especially because someone I came with has anxiety in crowded places. Also, how amazing would it have been if the name of the shop and address was also written on the shopfront in Bengali, like the some of the 'Brick Lane' road signs.

It's tough to rate an independent book shop so poorly. On the plus side, it has a small but perfectly formed collection of books, notably local history, poetry, art, fiction, and varied pursuits of the humanities. However, it's size and poor layout means that the throughput of customers creates an awkward, competing crowd when busy. And the staff are, as others have noted, erring on the side of contemptuous indifference. I suspect Blacks Books would rate better because at least you'd get a top class send off from a pithy and cantankerous shop keeper—whereas, here the sense is they honestly couldn't care less. I'd rather go to a larger high street chain, like Waterstones, where they at least acknowledge your existence and interact with a glimmer of professional positivity....

The Brick Lane Bookshop is a quaint store with a decent selection of books. The shop's compact size adds to its cozy atmosphere, although it may feel a bit cramped during busy hours. While the staff is friendly and helpful, the store's limited space sometimes results in a smaller range of titles compared to larger bookshops.

Despite its size, the Brick Lane Bookshop features a variety of genres, including local history and interest, as well as a selection of children's books. Overall, it's worth a quick visit when strolling through the neighborhood, especially for those seeking a more intimate book-browsing experience or looking for books about London and its...
