We (A band I play in) recently booked the golden jubilee for a special ten year anniversary party. The customer service was excellent, the bar and boat staff were super helpful and friendly and amenable to our wishes, allowing us to hang decorations and party items. The event went really well, everyone had a great time and thank you to the Golden Jubilee team for helping achieve that. We recommend to others for sure and may even use them again in future.
However, just a word of warning to people organising an event. Do be very very careful with decorations. I hung a wetsuit from a chain of a disco light and unfortunately I think someone pulled the costume and it disconnected the light. The light was still attached to the boat and didn’t fall off but we had an email saying we needed to replace the disco light. This is absolutely fair enough. The cost was £170 for the light and £240 for the electrician to fit it, a total of £410.
We are merely a little covers band (not a big corporation or business) having our friends over to celebrate with us. As our costs were very tight already, I decided to contact the boat company to see if I could help or somehow try and save on the damages. It seemed a lot of money to replace a like for like light that may well have just had its cable disconnected. The boat have their own “in-house electricians” and the cost there was fixed. I asked if I could come and have a look at it and maybe fix it. Fully understandable that this wasn’t possible due to insurance and safety stuff. I also asked if i could have the old light, as i could maybe repair it and sell it on ebay to limit costs to ourselves. I thought this was a reasonable request under the circumstances and with a bit more flexibility from the company, would be possible. The Events Organiser said this wasn’t possible and the £410 would be taken from our deposit. Again, this is understandable as the company is busy and may not have the ability/time to deal with all requests from every client. And I'm fully aware I don't have a leg to stand on, however it felt a bit of a shame that some middle ground wasn’t able to be reached i.e. that I wasn’t even able to come and collect an old light to try and repair it. I felt a little irked at the cost of the job. Thought there might be a chance of us trying to regain some funds.
I’m posting this review primarily to warn those who book with the company (which overall we recommend) to be extra vigilant with their decorations (and party revellers) to avoid damages/ issues as the costs can really skyrocket and the boat is strict with their repair policies.
Overall thanks for making our...
Read moreWhat can I say about CPBS? They were exceptional! We decided to hold our wedding ceremony and reception on the same boat we met on 13yrs ago. From day 1 they made every step of the process easy and enjoyable for us. My main contact for my event was Olivia, she was amazing! Planning a wedding is very tricky and dealing with a bride and groom with a vision of what they want, even trickier, so hats off to Olivia for being so kind and patient, thank you so much for making our dream wedding a reality. We were able to visit the boat prior to the wedding and met with Billy, he helped to answer a lot of our questions and really reassured us on what we could achieve for the day. The day of our wedding was not without its London problems, a Climate Change Protest, a Taylor Swift concert, and West End Live caused so many traffic problems for us and our guests but the staff on board were outstanding, making sure we were not panicked and just so kind and attentive. They all really calmed our nerves and meant we were able to just relax and enjoy our special day. We can't thank the whole team enough, from Olivia to our skipper on the day and to all the staff that made our wedding an absolute dream and the best day of our lives! We will be back for our 10yr anniversary (pencil us...
Read moreBooked a private boat for a corporate event. We had around 40 guests joining us on an evening cruise from 6pm - 9pm in April 2015.
The booking process was great. Our Event Manager was Hayley Connor who was brilliant, she had to deal with many changes to the booking including date, time, entertainment and catering and was always very responsive resolving any issues. Hayley was available on email and on the phone and was always happy to help us with an event that took a lot of organising from both sides.
On the evening of the event, we boarded from Tower Pier and were welcomed by the friendly staff. We were given a safety demo before setting off. We pre paid a tab behind the bar so our guests could have free flowing drinks all night - we didn't use all of our tab and CPB refunded us with the un-used balance without us even asking.
As for entertainment, we used our own personal ipod and had complete control of the music - there was a party atmosphere on board with everyone dancing on the dancefloor. We also had a casino table booked, guests were enjoying playing roulette on board - the person with the most chips at the end won a bottle of champagne. The food on board was also great!
Overall, an amazing evening. Thank you to everyone at CPB. Would 100%...
