Enjoying a dinner at London's STK Steakhouse, my recent dining experience at Chef Ethan Andrew's establishment was nothing short of delicious. From the moment I walked through the door, I knew I was in for a high quality gastronomic adventure.
The sushi offerings were an exquisite dance of flavors and textures, a testament to Chef Heaten's artistry in blending tradition with innovation. Each bite was a feeling of fresh fish and perfectly seasoned rice, transporting my taste buds to the coastal waters where these ingredients were sourced.
The ceviche was a vibrant masterpiece that showcased Chef Heaten's commitment to showcasing the finest ingredients. The fish was impeccably fresh, its delicate tanginess elevated by the harmonious marriage of citrus and herbs. It was a refreshing interlude that left me eagerly anticipating the next course.
Ah, the calamari – a true revelation. Chef Heaten's mastery over the delicate balance of tenderness and crispness was evident in every bite. The dish celebrated the ocean's bounty while allowing the natural flavors of the squid to shine. A delightful accompaniment that effortlessly complemented the array of flavors presented throughout the meal.
However, it was the steak that truly stole the show. From the first glance, it was clear that this was no ordinary dish. The steak arrived perfectly seared, a succulent testimony to Chef Heaten's expertise in handling prime cuts. Each mouthful was a journey into carnivorous bliss, with a depth of flavor and tenderness that spoke of impeccable sourcing and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
In every aspect of my meal, Chef Heaten Andrew's dedication to the craft of culinary artistry shone through. The attention to detail, the flawless execution, and the unwavering passion for delivering an unforgettable dining experience were evident in every dish that graced my table.
In the realm of gastronomy, Chef Heaten Andrew is undoubtedly a luminary. His sushi, ceviche de peixe, calamares, and steak creations are not just plates of food; they are an embodiment of passion, skill, and a profound love for the culinary arts. My journey through his carefully crafted menu was a symphony of flavors that I will keep in my memory for...
Read moreHad an awful experience here on Saturday 21 June where I ended up with food poisoning.
I came here as part of an early birthday celebration and got the set brunch. The only part of the meal that was cooked made to order and fresh was the mini burger sliders and then the two additional sides we ordered (chips and mac & cheese). The rest of the meal (prawns, arancini, chicken waffle) was served lukewarm. Even the dessert board looked like it had been prepared hours in advance.
The service was very good so because of that, my friend and I decided not to complain about the food. However within a few hours, I became violently unwell and this lasted for around 24 hours. I only began feeling a bit better on the Monday, and I had to cancel the rest of my birthday weekend.
When I emailed to alert them to this, I was contacted by someone called Sergiu who told me it’s impossible that what caused my sickness was the food at STK and basically accused me of lying, he also said they “conducted a thorough investigation” and that they couldn’t find any evidence to support what I was saying? Maybe I should have taken a photo of the inside of my toilet bowl for them to believe me. As if I would go to the lengths of making it up for no reason, I was very unwell and it is because I was served lukewarm shellfish and poultry which had been prepared in the morning ahead of their brunch service and then not thoroughly reheated!
I now wish I had complained at the time of the meal and not been so kind to them. Sergiu also hasn’t bothered to respond to my follow-up email, which just proves they are not professional or customer focused.
Honestly such an awful place with awful customer management, I’d never come back. I recently had a small issue with Claridge’s (not food related) and the difference in customer service is astounding — even though my experience at Claridge’s was not great, they have done all they can to resolve it and gone above and beyond, so I would still return in future. That’s the difference between a 2* and 5* establishment.
Dont bother...
Read moreWe went to STK Strand to celebrate my wife’s birthday by attending the VIBE bottomless brunch. There was a party of 11 of us so I respect big tables in this environment can be challenging. However, 7 of us turned up an hour early and had drinks at the bar while we wait until our allocated time and wait for the other guests. We had a booking for 3:30pm and by 3:34pm we still weren’t seated. Our other guests turned up 4 minutes late and we were then told we have 5 minutes to be seated and order our main or we have to be put in the À la carte menu (which was an additional charge). The manager was extremely rude to our guests which killed the whole vibe of this “vibe brunch”. We were seated and we were waiting over half an hour for everyone to get a drink (we had a 2 hour allocation for bottomless drinks) so we had missed out on our drinking time. The waiters then brought over Prosecco and wine despite asking for the cocktail package. They said we had to upgrade if we want a cocktail despite the Prosecco being in the cocktail package. They did not specify on the website or when booking that everyone had to be on the same drinks package so despite the fact if you like cocktails you still had to pay an additional £42 for cocktails that some people didn’t even want.
Despite this, the food was ok. The burgers in the sharing platters were nice and the steak was also ok for the main but not great. It came with a sauce which tasted like Chinese five spice and was served cold, personally I wouldn’t put this with steak. The waiters also cleared plates quickly when they noticed guests had gone to the toilet when they hadn’t finished their food.
We had one of our guests not drinking as he doesn’t drink alcohol. When explaining to the waiters they rudely said if he sees him drinking he will charge him double. It came across very rude bearing in mind we had spent over £1300 with them for an overrated brunch. It is a shame that we won’t be returning. Good luck to anyone who decides to have the...
