First experience in a climbing gym within London. Staff is friendly and all “first time climbing at this gym” forms can be completed online. Entrance fee for peak time is quite steep. 18 euros. They have a small selection of drinks for sale. Change rooms are unisex, there are lots of lockers and it’s safe enough to have it without a lock. It’s a small but comfortable venue. It was peak time so it was slightly difficult to find a spot to sit and rest after a climb but everyone was generally quite friendly. Perhaps this is the convention in London, but I dislike the visual indicator of the grading system. You have to go up to each route to determine what V grade it is. Back home, we had coloured tape marking on each route to indicate the grade. There was more slab than overhang but there was a generous number of routes. There are shoes for sale and for rental. I borrowed the gyms liquid chalk as I didn’t travel with any. The biggest pro is how late it stays open!

This is the 3rd LCC I have been to in a month and it is my second favorite (tough choice, really depending on the day, crowd and sets). Location: is central, both good (convenient) and bad (touristic). Space: compact but efficiently used; one main area 2 walls where there are caves and overhangs; a separate room across the pathway situates the weights, rolling machines etc and Moonboard/Kilter boards, plus a slab wall. Good lighting. Crowds: friendly, with good climbing etiquette. I also benefiting from going in on a Sat morning 10ish, beating the crowds. And had the Kilterboard (bonus!) all to myself most of the time (2 hrs~). I can see it could be unpleasantly crowded during peak hours, e.g. after work, late afternoon etc. Grading: feels comparable to Bethwall but tougher than VauxWall East. Albeit compact, the problem set (V4+) are well curated; I especially like the slabs. Def see myself rotating between Euston and BethWall :)
