London Pub MapLondon Pub Map
🚇 Great Portland Street 🍺 £7.15 Asahi ❤️ An attractive corner pub with plenty to keep you entertained. . The Albany is located at the top end of Great Portland Street where Fitzrovia meets Marylebone. The nearest Tube is Great Portland Street which is just opposite the pub. . This attractive corner pub was built 1869 and then rebuilt in 1898. This Victorian boozer has recently been lovingly refurbished and reopened its doors in April this year. . This is a large pub which has the main bar at ground level, if you head downstairs there is a basement bar which hosts entertainment. The refurb has been very sympathetic to this pubs Victorian heritage. There are some beautiful features like the tile panelled servery and the beautifully restored columns. Overall the pub feels bright and airy and feels a nice place to spend time in. . The beer line up was impressive, there is an extensive craft, keg and cask selection to choose from. From time to time the pub hosts tap take overs, independent breweries from across the UK get to showcase their brews. After a bit of indecision, I decided on a pint of Asahi. I really enjoyed my pint, price point was to be expected as most pubs retail this beer at around seven quid. The food menu was full of British pub classics, Fish & Chips costs £16.50. . I arrived with my Son just before 9pm on a Friday evening back in June. There was an upbeat buzz about the place with a good mix of punters. Some were enjoying drinks, a few were trying out the food, both pub disciplines were well catered for. My Son and I sat around a poser table watching a bit of Glasto on one of the screens dotted around the bar. This pub has loads on to keep you entertained. There are midweek themed quizzes, live sports from Sky and BT, down in the basement bar are Comedy, Cabaret and Music nights put on throughout the month. . @thealbanyw1w was a pleasant visit, both my Son and I really enjoyed our time here. This pub is a bit of a Swiss army knife, there are so many things to do here aswell as just have a drink or something to eat. Overall, a very positive experience. 🍻 . ℹ️ Info correct 23.06.23

I recently hosted my 40th birthday party at The Albany, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. I rented the basement for around 100 guests, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. First and foremost, Ellie was outstanding! She helped me with all the booking details, from arranging the menu to organizing the room layout. She was quick to respond, super friendly, and just made the whole planning process feel smooth and stress-free. I knew things were in great hands, thanks to her attention to detail. On the day of the party, two managers, Inka and Iwo, were there to keep everything running seamlessly. They were both fantastic—extremely attentive, helpful, and made sure all my guests felt taken care of. The bar staff were just as brilliant, and their energy really added to the night. The basement itself is a gem of a venue. There’s a private staircase that leads down to it, giving it an exclusive feel. While the room was slightly smaller than I expected from the photos, it was still spacious enough, and the cozy seating areas like booths and corner seats matched the pictures perfectly. It was great to have these chill-out areas for guests who wanted to relax. Setting up music was super easy—I just plugged in my phone, and the sound system was good to go. My friends raved about the food, especially the chicken dippers! I didn’t get a chance to try much myself, but both my gluten-free and vegan friends loved their options, which speaks volumes about the variety and quality. All in all, I feel really lucky to have found this place. The Albany’s basement is the perfect venue if you're looking for a cool, affordable space with amazing staff who genuinely make a difference. Big shoutout to Ellie, Inka, and Iwo for making my birthday unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Interesting pub with a lively and upbeat vibe. Conveniently located next to a tube station and close to a hotel, this is a great place to grab a quick bite or drink. The tables are a bit close together and the music is a bit loud (causing people to talk loudly), but I guess it’s all part of the “pub” vibe. Staff and service were great – we were served in a timely manner and the drinks and food were fresh and hot. We had hot chocolate and the chicken schnitzel (unfortunately the fish dish we wanted was unavailable). The chicken schnitzel did not taste greasy at all, and it was paired beautifully with a light arugula salad. Fortunately we were able to find a spot for dinner on a weeknight without making a reservation. You can tell this place is popular among locals!

My boyfriend pre-booked Valentines dinner for both of us yesterday. From the beginning it felt a bit awkward, we came in and no-one was at the reception for few minutes even though they've seen us waiting. The other couple came in waiting behind us. Finally waitress came in and asked us for name, after what left to the other room and called us to show one and only dirty table in the room and say that it's our table and to go to the bar and order a drink when she cleans it. My partner asked If we can't have other tables that were nicer and already set but we were told they were booked for other people but by the end of the night no-one have used these tables. We went to the bar and no-one served us for a long time so we ended up just standing there when waitress came back to give us the table. Then I realised that couple who was behind us was already drinking wine at one of the bigger tables. Not many waiters in the room and was difficult to gain attention. Very kind staff but not trained, I ordered salad to my main and didn't get it so for half of the meal I tried to get waiters attention to get it. They asked my boyfriend what size of beer he wants and they brought wrong anyway. In the end they forgot to take of £20 off the bill that was pre-paid but we got it back in the bar. Very good food and wine but very poor service. Paying £120 for dinner you would...
