I never thought I would have to write a negative review on this place, especially on the weekend before Christmas.
We've been coming religiously to this pub since December 2023, in varying small and large groups - up to at least 30 people in attendance. We've hosted a Christmas party using the downstairs suite, and reserved tables both in advance and spontaneously with no complaints on the service and food quality. However, recently a lot of the staff have been turned over and their replacements are seemingly more rude and apathetic. The app has also gotten less user-friendly and more unreliable - this isn't a fault of the staff, but their helpful recommendation to "just go to the bar" as a blanket answer to any issue is one of the examples of their "service". What's the point of the app then? And, imagine if the staff had been so obtuse to someone with a disability!
We took particular issue with the manager on-duty at the time - Saturday 21st December 2024 - who was weirdly hostile to our group from the outset, as the previous reviewer also pointed out. Someone from the Greene Man (probably aforementioned manager) replied to the previous review saying it was unfortunate that we "didn't speak to anyone at the time", which is absolutely a LIE as I personally attempted to reach out TWICE and was blatantly ignored both times, and then our table was ignored by the waitstaff for over an hour afterwards until we left.
We've continued to choose coming to the Greene Man until this point because the location was convenient, the prices were acceptable, we got along very well with the old staff, we didn't cause any trouble and we were more than happy with the food - the cheese toastie and sunday roasts were staples in our group!
I'm hoping these are just seasonal staff issues and things will return to their usual quality in the new year so I can give a more favourable review, but our experience this weekend will sour any future trip we have to...

A Euston Road Stalwart.
The Greene Man is located on busy Euston Road in the north west corner of Fitzrovia. The nearest Tube is Great Portland Street which is just across the road.
The Greene Man was originally built in the 18th century and was known as the Farthing Pie House. This was a common name for a place where a mutton pie could be bought for a farthing.
This Greene King pub has been recently refurbished with what appears to be their new uniformed look. This is a spacious one bar pub that has a function room in the basement. The servery is located on the left hand side and stretches the width of the bar. Around the walls are green painted panels with a mixture of artwork and paintings. There is plenty seating throughout the split level bar with poser tables located near the servery and traditional tables and chairs around the perimeter. Even though the fixtures and fittings are traditional this pub has a modern and contemporary feel.
The beer selection was solid and included four cask ales plus a couple of craft beers. I decided on an Amstel, my pint was great, price point was a touch above average. They didn’t have mutton pie on the menu but they do have Fish & Chips which costs £16.45.
I arrived just after 11am on an overcast Saturday morning in late January. I was first in the door and was greeted by a member of staff who was friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere as you can imagine was relaxed, the soundtrack was a chilled R&B mix. Soon after I arrived, the pub started filling up with a dozen or so punters from all walks of life. I have visited this pub a few times over the years and noticed it gets very busy late afternoon to early evening.
This pub shows live Premier League, Champions League and all live major sporting events.
The @greenemaneuston was a pleasant visit, well worth nipping in for a pint if you’re in the area.

Read moreWe are a football group who play in Regent’s Park. We know the rules for Covid. We are a group of six who got separated because my friend had to park her car. They told us we can’t come in and join the other three we played with. They told us we couldn’t be on the table next to them if we’re joining them.
I was really shocked since the six of us just came from bills restaurant in Baker Street.
They let us in eventually after I educated them on the Covid law for pubs. After we sat down the staff started scrutinising us making us uncomfortable. Learn to have some good customer service.
My black friend paid 50p for a soda drink whilst the manager gave him a dirty look. Then they refused to serve alcohol to my Asian friend. The explanation was because they were annoyed by us. That is so messed up. We left because that pub doesn’t deserve our money from their childish behaviour.
If you have a problem about people watching football taking time to order a drink. Just close down, there was childish behaviour from all the staff. They should be ashamed of themselves very unprofessional. Change the...
