Coq d'Argent equals great dining experience; the food was delicious, beautifully presented, staff was attentive and the place is a good escape from crowds & busy Bank area. They have a roof terrace so if the weather is good you can have your lunch outside.

No. 1 Poultry is a building opposite the Royal Exchange and the Bank of England building that was redeveloped in 1997 into this postmodern design. The design utilises bold colours of interleaved pink and yellow limestone, fixed in stripes and blocks of colour. The interior atrium at the centre is even more colourful, a riot of blue pink and yellows.

This postmodern landmark at a prominent City intersection consistently ridiculed and derided as being amongst London's ugliest buildings. Despite the hoopla and ship prow metaphors etc, this restless interloper cocks a snoot at its illustrious neighbours. A Pharaohic dream of the future as interpreted by...

I get a shiver down my spine every time I walk past this horror show. A building that looked dated before it was even finished. When I think of what was demolished to make way for this stripy dollop of towering awfulness, I have to reach for the hankies....
