Pros - good location in trendy Bermondsey. 15 minute walk to London Bridge tube, 10 minutes to Bermondsey tube, a few minutes to all the bars and cafes of Bermondsey or Butlers Wharf etc. A tasteful refurbishment of an old building, finished to a good standard. Room decor was good . Good kitchen/ bathroom facilities. Good supply of filtered water teas coffee pods and fresh oat milk. Community space was very comfortable with more teas coffees and fresh fruit available. Cons - check-in process was a nightmare. The only way to access the permanently locked building initially is through the App , and that wasnt functioning. Emailed and phoned the help desk but nobody got back to me. Eventually got thru to Security who gave me someone’s mobile. I was then met outside of the locked front door and allowed in. There was a key card in the room tho which I used subsequently to re-enter via the front door. The building is next to the Fire Station so expect frequent disruption from the emergency services attending to call outs. The room was generally clean and in a good condition, however the flooring in my unit , especially in the bathroom ,needs replacing. The bed is on a mezzanine above the main living space. Access is via an extremely steep, and in my view dangerous, set of steps. Getting down them in the middle of the night was a challenge. Also, the head room on the mezzanine is limited. So if you are anywhere near 6foot tall you are gonna struggle with it. Some small cereal bowls would have been useful. And a microwave maybe. Otherwise the kitchen was fine. On the whole, I’d be...
Read moreI am so excited to share this review here, Mason & Fifth is truly the home to live in in London. I don't even know where to start, I am just so grateful to have been part of the amazing community. Got to experience the best life and living quality in London. The team lead by Jo is outstanding, caring so much about the people, community and the building. I just feel truly luck to have had the experience to live there. It is beyond easy, you just move in with your suitcase. Kitchen equipment, bedding, everything is provided for in the studio itself. The most comfortable bed ever btw.. so much storage space, a really big bathroom for this being a microstudio as well. And a fully equipped kitchen with a hob + oven which is an absolute rarity. I lived south facing on the top floor and my studio was light filled, I had a fantastic view and the despite the location being in the middle of the city it was so so quiet and peaceful. The communal space is a gem and the best place to meet with neighbors and cook or watch tv, workout. I've built new friendships, tried completely new activities and enjoyed myself so much. It is such a cosy, luxurious and relaxed space to live in. Big thank you to the amazing...
Read moreI almost don't want to share a review of this great place as I'm sure all the glowing reports that it's bound to get will make it impossible to book into next time. And we certainly hope that there will be a next time! The staff were so delightful and helpful - a big shout out to Ben, Jack, Victoria and Henna - and made us feel very welcome. The room was lovely, a glimpsed view of the church opposite, and extremely comfortable. There was a small kitchenette and an ensuite bathroom - both practical and equipped with everything you might need. Downstairs there are comfy spots to sit and a communal dining table in the kitchen where the serve-yourself delicious breakfast is laid out. Our visit coincided with some amazing weather so we were able to make the most of the beautiful garden - a little oasis in busy London. Nearby is Regents Canal and Regents Park and Primrose Hill village with a great selection of cafés and restaurants. We were staying in London for our daughter's wedding and the team could not have been lovelier and left out a bottle of bubbles for us to start the day in style! We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Mason & Fifth - and, for London, we found the price very...
