A mainstay of my life when I lived in Leyton, Michael's Fish Bar is one of the very best in London, if not England. Portions are vast, and the permanent queue of hungry customers that can stretch out into the street means that the food is always freshly cooked. I love the way you can order both cod and chips in small, medium or large portions but be careful. A double large order has defeated even my legendary appetite, even after a long day in the saddle, leading a social bike ride! By far the best and I really mean this.the best in the West.have been using this plaice regularly. Great value 4 money. Literally as cheap as chips. And what a lot of chips you get served. Great family runily chineese staff.quality service quality food. Never never once had a bone in my fish.not to be missed if in Leyton. Friday night just look at the queue out the door for recommendation. That's the only draw back sometimes too good too popular. Can't be a bad thing. Price real good value for money. Used this more traditional fish & chip takeaway for a number of years but never posted a review,so here goes. Chips excellent if you like proper chips cut from real potatoes & fried.Nice & crisp. Medium Cod decent size , thick & flakey . Not so keen on the batter they use.For me it's to dense and stodgy like undercooked batter on a Birds Eye fish finger.They would do better if they changed to a nicer crispy batter like you get in a gastro pub. Also,I don't buy their curry sauce any longer .Its always lumpy & doesnt' taste that good.Prefer to buy and add it to the meal from...
