Terrible service from this lady, I politely asked for a pie and mentioned that I'd like it to go. She began shouting at me for no reason, calling me an idiot and insisting that it was obvious everything there was for takeaway. The young lady who ordered in front of me was treated with courtesy and asked if she wanted to dine in or take her order away. It was incredibly humiliating, an arrogant woman mistreating people without any cause. I regretted my purchase there; there were other places and unfortunately, I made a terrible choice buying from a bitter and prejudiced woman. I checked the reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, and there are comments similar to mine. I do not recommend this place, especially if you're in London just for a visit. Respect for people is the bare minimum. If you're in a bad mood with life, stay at home and don't work in...

At first I thought the lady was being rude when I replied to her immediately explaining “you eat then cold” with a “oh you eat them cold?” .. “that’s why I just told you that “she replied lol (poor gal she must get that all day) HOWEVER, upon reading the bad - and plainly DUMB reviews here I will say - it is rude to not know what your buying and then complain about it. I liked the pie. The pork was great, the pastry yummy. Personally I don’t like congealed fat but I do like ketchup on eggs and eat hot dogs so there’s that. It’s what we are accustomed to. I feel bad for the lady selling them because people are rude and ignorant in general in the market/tourist setting - How bout this? educate yourself and think about the weird stuff you eat that you think is normal before assuming everyone is just like...

I'm involved in running a pork pie appreciation society. Today we had our Xmas meeting. One of our regular amateur bakers was unable to make the meeting, but decided to submit 2 of your pies via a friend. I have never tasted anything so disgusting. The pastry was soft and anaemic, and the meat content was poor. How you can call it a Melton Mowbray pork pie I'm uncertain? If it's made anywhere near Melton I would reconsider your choice of baker. If. It's made anywhere else, likewise resource your baker. The pies were disgusting. That definition is being complimentary.

I attach an image of a proper pie brought to our meeting by an amateur baker. Please take note of what a pie...

I have to leave 5-star to counter the negative reviews on here. The lady isn’t rude, she was very lovely and smiled back at us. Kindly informed us that she took cards only, not cash. The pies and pasties were delicious and eaten at room temp (or “cold”, depending on when you visit) just as they ought to be according to the traditional cuisine. When leftovers were reheated with an oven at low temp, they tasted great as well! Be open-minded and give this place a try!
