Panda Laundry — Local services in London

I often wash and donate my clothes while I am traveling to make more room in my suitcase for souvenirs. This laundromat was close to the hotel I was staying, so I decided to come here.

I had great interactions with the staff that worked here, so my experience there was 5 stars all around. The laundromat also felt clean even though it was small and there was really no room for folding clothes.

What I didn’t like was that it was cash only and had pretty limited hours compared to what you would see in the US. You will need about 10 pounds to do a small load of laundry here - 6 pounds to wash and 3-4 lbs to dry. I was able to give the staff a 10 pound note and was given 1 and 2 pound coins to use for the machines. I brought my own detergent, but if you have to buy it here, expect to bring more than 10 pounds in cash. There is an ATM a short walk away, but this was the only time during my trip when I needed to use cash.

I would come back again, but know now what to expect when...

A very average experience... The person working was relatively friendly but didn't seem to understand my clear plea: please try to wash this rug, in any way you can to take out this new stain. I went to pick it up on the planned day before leaving the area and nothing had happened apart from him sending it away and apparently trying to call to say it might get damaged so they wouldn't take responsibility (which I had already agreed to). So, to avoid further delays for no service at all I pursued, for more money than expected to receive it back, clean but with exactly the same stain... Would have been quicker and more effective at...

I have been visiting Panda 1-2x a week for the past year and am so grateful to have such a fantastic launderette right down the street. This business operates in a COVID safe manner which can't be said for other local launderettes that I've tried. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful, the prices are reasonable and I could not be more impressed with how thoroughly and frequently the facilities are cleaned. They have brand new dryers & washers that are extremely fast and efficient. A load of my soaking wet laundry will dry easily in 30 minutes! 10/10 a...
