I really wanted to like this restaurant, especially given the reviews. The price was great but not the food. Whilst the decor was good and staff were friendly enough, they appeared to be rushed. Made evident through slamming plates down and no we're not talking about plate smashing here. Perhaps the highlight of service was the waiter exclaiming he had "already told us that he didn't have octupus". We had the mixed meze (probably the best to get a feel for a greek restaurant as you get a wide selection of dishes). First came the cold meze which was good overall except the token carrots and random potatoes... The hot meze was not really what you'd expect as it consisted of two dishes, some mediocre whitebait and fried squid. Honestly if you want to advertise as hot mezze then actually put some of the great hot meze dishes in the meal. A real shame as a non Greek would be missing out. The mains. A selection of grilled meats (chicken, pork and lamb). In two words. Unseasoned overgrilled. I had to lick moisture into the meats! Presentation was poor. Accompanied by a greek salad. Minor point but there was no lemon wedge. Imagine that... A Greek salad with no lemon! At this point I made the executive decision to order dessert. The selection was a near footnote on the menu and tastebuds. Given a choice of classic ice cream, fresh fruit, fresh fruit in season (awaiting an explanation of the difference with bated breath) and kataifi (basically noodle cake with honey, nuts and some sweet spices). We went with the noodle cake. It was the most overseasoned kataifi I've ever had. At which point I was gasping for water, but alas we were never offered any. Not even tap water. So overall, my very own Greek Odyssey which played out loudly to the same...

It was an unforgettable night made even more memorable by the extra special care we received from the staff at Alexander the Great Restaurant who cooked and served the food and drink.

Every aspect of the cuisine is clearly very well thought through.

From the menu, the hot and cold starters and even down to the interior decor and service.

The meats including the lamb were very well cooked and served with warmth by a gentleman who absolutely took good care of us from start to finish. As promised!

They even allowed us to bring in our own decorations and birthday cake.

Then there was the main meal and the size of the portions; so generous there were loads left over.

One of the options we had was the delicious vegan kebab option and wasn’t disappointed at all. The vegetables were well-cooked and came with an extra rice portion garnished with lemon peel.

The highlight of the night was the serving of the birthday cake with actual sparklers which lit the room up and took the celebration to a whole new level. Suddenly what was a delectable dinner turned into a disco party for all but a few minutes. The celebrant was in awe, we were speechless and all the guests went home with pleasant memories Alexander the Great Restaurant helped cement in the sands of time forever.

In a nutshell (no pun intended), fireworks, soundtracks and delectable dishes - even though this was a last minute arrangement booked over the phone by a pleasant member of staff from Alexander the Great Restaurant.

“Thanks for the drinks-on-the house option at the end as well as for making our son and nephew’s birthday a happier, funnier and fulfilling event as...

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for the first time and I must say, it was an incredible experience! As a lover of Greek food, I was excited to try out their menu and was not disappointed. My family and I were celebrating my mother's birthday and due to the restaurant's popularity, we had to book a table for six. Despite the busy crowd, the service was top-notch - attentive, friendly, and accommodating.

The food was simply delicious, bursting with authentic Greek flavors. Each dish was perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. We all couldn't stop raving about the flavors and quality of the food. The restaurant also has an impressive selection of drinks, including alcohol, which added to the dining experience.

The only downside was the limited selection of desserts for those with nut allergies. However, the staff went above and beyond to make up for it. They allowed us to bring our own birthday cake and made it extra special by singing and playing happy birthday music for my mother. It truly made her day and added a personal touch to our dining experience.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic Greek dining experience. From the food to the service, everything was impeccable. Thank you for making my mother's birthday celebration a memorable one. We will definitely be visiting again soon. Keep up...

The service was rushed and food is overrated. We went for the mixed meze for 2 which supposedly should come with a combination of cold and hot mezes, some fish dishes and the final grilled meat platter. While some of the cold mezes were good, the hot meze was merely a few pieces of hallloumi cheese on ham. Both fish dishes were not impressive either, very soggy and lack seasoning. After a good 20-30 mins of wait, we were finally served our main course which was the biggest disappointment of all. The grilled lamb looked like some leftover off cuts that were hastily chucked onto the plate, a rather unpleasant tasting and smelly piece of meat. Both grilled pork and chicken were dry, rubbery and lacking in seasoning. Not to mentioned that these came with a sad looking salad which is again under-seasoned. Finally, the dessert kataifi, though served warm, had by far the most overwhelming spice tang I've ever had - not a tad enjoyable. Overall, the most pleasant part of the meal was the decor and the dinning ambience. Food was quite a disappointment as well as the repeated music selection. I won't be coming back, nor will I recommend this to my friends/family.

The most shocking thing here was the state of the fish tank. It was appalling, not cleaned in a very very long time. Full of algae. I feel really sorry for the poor fish who need to live in that condition. I implore the restaurant to look after their fish! (too bad I didn't take a picture) They too need to be looked after. Coming to the rest of the restaurant and food - it's an average place. For a Greek restaurant to serve humous not freshly made is simply not acceptable. The food portions are very very generous! We all carried doggy bags home. Service is fast, a bit too fast. My friend was finishing off his starter, but the waiter was in a rush to take plates away. Nothing stood out, so I don't think I'd be recommending this to anyone real soon. A lame attempt to add a bit of salad was 1 single piece of cucumber and 1 single piece of tomato to some dishes - why bother! Staff are acceptably friendly, nothing I could mention that stood out.
