Visited the Kings road store on Saturday with my little girl. After smelling a fragrance I wanted as a concession in harrods beauty where I received incredible service. I decided get more from a flagship store as I wanted a true experience in a shop with all the products. I walked into the store and felt immediately judged. I did a lap around the store and not once did the 2 staff members ask how I was, if there was anything I was looking for. I approached them and asked them about a few products. Tried to engage in conversation asking which was the most popular fragrance and which they preferred. Still not prompting any questions back about what I was looking for.
Slightly mortified at the abysmal service I just grabbed a discovery set for travelling. I payed and it was wrapped as if my two year old had done it and the staff member quickly went to the door and opened the rope that was blocking the door, ushering me to leave.
I am honestly shocked at the atrocious service and wrote to customer services who just said âitâs an isolated service and the store manager is sorryâ and that was the bulk of the email. Not gestures or anything to encourage me back to the store or Penhaligons for that matter. It has left such a bitter note about buying from this brand. A true shame as they have some...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment after a recent visit to your store where I was accompanied by a friend.
During our visit, I was treated in a way that felt dismissive and judgmental by a staff member. When I asked to smell a perfume, I was told that if I wanted to try it, I should purchase a discovery set and test it at home. I also mentioned a fragrance I liked, only to be told it was âboring.â I found that comment rude and unnecessarily critical â fragrance is personal, and no customer should feel belittled for their taste.
Additionally, the staff member told me I couldnât touch the perfume samples, which made me feel even more restricted and unwelcome. This was especially frustrating because, at the same time, another staff member was openly spraying perfume into her own scarf â clearly showing that testers were accessible and in use. It created a clear sense of inconsistency and unfair treatment.
Both my friend and I left the store feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. I entered genuinely interested in exploring your fragrances, but I left feeling judged and excluded. This is not the level of service I would expect from a luxury brand like...
