First time watching a play here and cannot fault it at all. The play, BLACK SUPERHERO by Danny Lee Wynters, was absolutely phenomenal. Directed by Daniel Evans, this was an incredible staging. Beautiful visuals which, regardless of the actual narrative, almost moved me to tears. Regarding the narrative itself – this is a wonderful debut from Wynters. Truly a gorgeous piece of theatre all round.

In terms of the venue, very friendly reception and bar staff. Prices of drinks are par for the course in London (if not cheaper than some theatre bars even outside the capital) – £10 espresso martini and £3 pint of coke. Can't complain. Facilities were very clean and inviting (toilets separated by cubicles and urinals is a very lovely thing to see as a genderqueer person in this world of ours).

Inside the Jerwood Downstairs theatre (the building's main auditorium), I sat at the front of the circle so had a great view of the stage. The seats are very comfortable compared to any other theatre and cinema I've been to which of course matters when you're sat down for upwards of 2 hours.

Overall, a wonderful experience of a wonderful play in a wonderful theatre. I'm hoping to catch something next month Upstairs instead and I can't...

I was at the Royal Court Theatre to see "Cowbois". This play, billed as an amusing exploration of the tropes of the Western and an exploration of gender roles and expression, was actually a badly staged and acted dud in which worthwhile moments were rarer than tumbleweed blowing in from the prairie. It is quite the worst thing I have seen in years. There was crud, not gold, in them thar hills !

A real bone of contention with me is the fact that the doors to the auditorium were not opened until nearly 720pm for a show that was due to start at 730pm. The reason for this was clear from the eagerness with which staff directed us downstairs to the bar area. The Royal Court Theatre should reflect on the fact that it costs quite enough to go to the theatre these days without adding to the bill by paying exorbitant prices for whatever drink or food it makes available. Some of us just want to get seated in good time and for the show we are seeing to start on time (which this...

"BLCK SuperHero"... Pay itself was okeish, good jokes ... Smart stage set up, main character was walking the whole play around with notebook & his notes which was bit weird... 1st 3rows got sprayed with water which was very unexpected & maybe unnecessary... Big thx 2 Rochenda Sandall as she was really brilliant & very energetic thru out.

Gr8 venue BUT: there was "young girl throwing up" @ sitting/dinning area in plastic tub???... Not exactly what we wanna see when we have 15min break from lovely theatre play 2get our drinks sorted... There was one member of staff assisting her... I don't understand why she was there exactly instead of toilet??? ... I need to pass with my elderly very close by this happening on our way to the wc...this was Very poorly handled by the venue = especially in those Pandemic times... It left us with sour taste on this...

I really enjoyed my night out at the Royal Court Theatre at Sloane Square. It’s a fantastic spot if you’re into new, thought-provoking plays. The theatre has a cool, intimate vibe—nothing too flashy, but you can tell it’s all about the storytelling. Seats are comfy and the sightlines are great, even in the smaller upstairs space. It’s super easy to get to, literally right next to Sloane Square tube. The bar and café inside are nice too—decent prices, friendly staff, and a chilled atmosphere that doesn’t feel overly “theatre-y.” Great place to grab a drink before or after the show. What I love most is that the Royal Court supports new writers and original voices—you often see work here you won’t find anywhere else in London. If you're bored of the usual West End stuff and want something fresh and smart, definitely check this theatre out.

I took public transit (for what seemed like forever) to get to the Royal Court Theatre, on the off-chance I could snag a ticket to the sold-out play, Giant. I didn’t get a ticket, but I learned how to get my name on a list if a single ticket came up and ….voila, a ticket for the following day’s matinee! Brilliant system! Well worth it play was marvellous. The staff is brilliant, and I think they serve the cheapest gin & tonic in London during the interval. So glad I got here!
