We bought a few products from Brinkworth Dairy's stall at Queen's Park Farmers Market (no name cheese, blue cheese, yogurt and milk) and were charged extra £2 for the milk glass bottle and was told by the seller that we would get the £2 refunded when we return the bottle. A week later we came back to return the bottle, the seller didn't even acknowledge us and we had to ask for the £2 refund and instead he refunded us 50p RELUCTANTLY.
It took us 40mins to travel to return the glass bottle and do the good deed for the environment and support a local farmer and this is how we were treated?
Absolutely disappointed with their promise, it is not really about the money, is about the principal of it - keep your promise! On another note, there is no price display on every product that they are selling so who knows we might be charged an unknown extra amount.
On top of that, the no name cheese was a disappointment. Lack of taste and crumbly. Even shop bought feta taste much better.
Certainly will come back to the market to support other businesses but definitely will not go back to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat place to go on a Sunday. Always crowded. Has a little space wth fresh cooked specialty foods to eat. A mixture of breads, dairy products, Italian pasta, fruit and veg, fowers etc However, I have made a few Purchases there and although not advertised as organic I bought from two sellers who said they were not certified organic but were organic so I took them at their word. Mistake as the food I bought from them was NOT organic and stayed looking "fresh" for a long while, although I paid organic prices (not happy). So great market but i'll only buy from certified organic sellers now. Naughty!

Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the suppliers. However, the market is a joy to go to and it has not stopped me from going. The only thing that has changed for me is that I check if it is organic advertised produce rather than 'trust' the sellers word. I hope this was...

It's just not the same as pre-pandemic. What is? But this has really gone down hill, crazy expensive with very little choice. The genuine farmers have all gone, the remaining ones are the greedy ones which charge crazy money for the same repetitive ingredients, mostly really expensive tomatoes. There used to be a guy selling real English apples - not the commercially produced ones from the supermarkets - he's gone plus and old couple that used to sell genuine farmer vegetables at not too crazy prices, I think they have retired. I wouldn't bother if you don't live in the area, which I don't. More precooked stuff available now.....not really farmer market stuff though. Good for...
