I would not recommend this company. We were really looking forward to doing an escape room here but unfortunately the day before we tested positive for covid. We emailed them straight away explaining the situation and asked if we could reschedule for a different day. They didn't get back to us until the following day, after our allocated booking time and stated we could reschedule but would be required to pay a £25 late notice fee. I can understand being required to pay this under normal circumstances but when it's due to covid which is unforseen I think this is just poor service and poor morals as a company. We had plans booked for this day with 2 other companies and this was the only company to enforce their late notice fee due to the circumstances. It's a shame as this sort of customer service will make people turn up to their bookings with covid which in my opinion shows a lack of care for their staff members and customers safety. I would rather put my money towards a company that cares about their staff and customers safety over profit.
UPDATE: They saw my review and offered to reschedule the escape room without the late notice fee if I remove the review. So they can throw out the late notice fee when they want a bad review taken down but not when it's to keep their staff and customers safe. This just solidifies their poor...
Read moreDon’t book Hotel of Horrors! Unfortunately it was the worst escape room we’ve ever done. As of writing this review it’s only been open a week and it clearly had not been playtested thoroughly or even finished and yet they’re still charging full price. The room was really sparse, decoration was cheap and story was boring. It didn’t help that there were so many red herrings that it made the puzzles almost impossible (as even admitted by the game master!) and not a single puzzle was satisfying or logical. So many puzzles were poorly designed and pointlessly convoluted. Also any tech in the room is already broken or not working fully, making it even harder to solve puzzles that involve those buttons or props. Finally sadly our host was lacklustre, not immersive or fun like other escape rooms and the way you communicate with them via walkie talkie was awkward and it was an shame they were a part of the world of the escape room like other companies do. All in all I would avoid!! I’ve given 2 stars as I can’t comment on other rooms but if they’re similar then there are much much better escape rooms in London! We feel stupid as we wasted £90 we can...
Read morePsychopath's Den. Probably the least favourite escape room I've ever done. After driving for over an hour to get to the venue, we received an email just as we were parking the car to be told the room was not available after having booked the day before. Fortunately, we managed to phone up and got them to agree to let us in. The background music is way too loud especially when there are critical instructions being given on the screens. Loads of red herring writing over the walls. The copper pipe tracer is too long and wastes way too much time -where's the fun in that? The clear perspex maze for the metal ball appears to be broken with several walls missing (this may be intentional?) There just doesn't seem like there are many puzzles to solve. UV writing is very faded and should be freshened up. Unsolicited hints were not appreciated. You should wait until people ask for a hint, or at least ask if people want a hint before giving spoilers. No plans to return if this is how all of your escape...
