Thought I had bought my perfect car a used F type jaguar from these jokers. Paid 25k and got a parent to drop me from Norfolk to Beckenham and told the car was ready. When I arrived it was still on the ramps having an MOT so looked past that. Then a further hour' while it was valeted. Drove off the forecourt and 100yards down the road smoke coming out the bonnet and either hose or water pump knackered. Drove straight back in to dealership. Car was two days in workshop and they were kind enough to loan me a jaguar XE to get home in. Before leaving I explained how far away I lived and need to use either Dartford or Blackwall tunnel and was told don't worry the car is our courtesy car and will come back to us. Just use it to get home and they would drive my F type back to me to say sorry.clearly the jaguar 120 point check hadn't been done, just signed off as the pump and over heating would have shown up. Anyway they delivered the car and drove off in the courtesy car and that was July. Now it September and I had a surprise in the post of a penalty charge for using the tunnel at Blackwall. Because of the time it's taken via the dealership this is now a pay £90 or it will jump to £180 and then £270 if I wait. I called the dealership and find my salesman no longer works in Beckenham so had the good sense to leave there employment and now had two conversations with staff both saying I am responsible for the tunnel ticket, which they clearly believe I used their car to get home when I had already put the new reg of my broken F type on the charge account. So the dealership stitch up customers months later saying not to worry but they don't care less about after care. They have your sale and now any fines get forwarded to you months later to sort out. Not only have they robbed me of driving off in my new f type home but now an extra penalty charge months later which is now my problem as well. Caring, I don't think so.
This matter will be forwarded to jaguar land rover and also the jaguar finance company to report there shoddy behaviour. Apparently the quote is cars go wrong all the time they arent always reliable, according to staff on the phone. Staff are obstructive don't care about customer service. So much for upholding a jaguar prestige brand looking...
Read moreDealership I purchased the car is one of those closed due to Jaguar's change in strategy so chose this dealer given good Google reviews. I don't know if I'm one of the unlucky ones but while initial phone conversation was fine, experience post the service of the car wasn't very pleasant. Seemed a simple scheduled service (of a 3yr old car which was dealer serviced less than 1 yr ago) had turned into something else. The bill received was very high and explanation wasn't very good. Had to challenge, failing that I referenced my warranty before eventually bill was reduced as some items were cancelled out (with no real explanation). As I've said I may have been just unlucky with who I dealt with on the day but what tipped it over the edge for me was the appalling "complimentary" car wash I received. I'd actually washed my car a few days prior to the service but they somehow managed to make the car dirtier on collection. There were obvious water/chemical smears all over the car, dirt clearly visible on parts of the car, lower part of the car almost certainly not cleaned and the interior had a strong unpleasure smell (which I won't have minded if it meant a clean car). Yet they were ok to hand the car to me in that state - dirtier than I brought it in. This is what ultimately forced me to write this review. It really made me question whether this is a place I can entrust with my car. I don't think it is. Again, it might just have been a bad day and I was the unlucky one but never again.
PS: I decided to sell the car afterwards. With dwindling dealerships near me, if this is one of the best ones left then I had to...
Read moreBought a second hand Range Rover Evoque just over a week ago with Louis who was extremely helpful. He probs thought I was a bit crazy as I was eyeing up the Evoque and a Jaguar F-Type. Ultimately, his view on the F-Type was that it's a great car, but not the comfort option for which I'd be better going with the Evoque, as I do a lot of long journeys. I opted to take both the extended warranty and service plan. Both were reasonably priced. Also ended up speaking to Rob along the way over the phone discussing immobiliser, tracker, and dashcam options. As part of getting the car ready, they noticed a scratch on the bumper and had it resprayed, which was above and beyond what I expected. They facilitated installs via a third party. We had a conversation about taking my old car part-exchange, but with it being a VW he said I'd get a better deal using Carwow or Motorway (which I did) and explained how the whole process worked with those websites. I really appreciated that nothing felt like a hard sell, we talked a lot and it felt like I was receiving seasoned advice from someone trying to be helpful and this was great for me as any hard sell tends to put me off very quickly. I also had support from a friend who knows a lot about cars as he's a collector, and it was good that there were no conflicts in opinions which again, supported the feeling for me that I was getting...
