There is a low barrier on this carpark, I think it was 2m, so no vans. The spaces are clearly marked and well spaced. The ground is level, no potholes. There are lots of disabled bays. I visited for a parkrun today and there were no spaces left. In desperation, I attempted to park in one of the many empty disabled bays but was warned by a local that they are pretty hot on ticketing, so I have to leave the car park and find somewhere to park in a side street some distance away. Sure enough, as I was leaving a traffic warden was on his way in. Not ideal and I was late for the start of the run (traffic en route meant I was running a little later than planned, I was there 15 minutes prior to the run). The payment machines appeared to be working well though and you can pay by an app or by change. I'm not sure if contactless is an option. Maybe just a note for parkrunners, try and use public transport where you can and if like me you have to travel by car, leave in plenty of time for the start. I'm sure for ordinary park use the rest of the week there are plenty of spaces. Charging starts from 10am, so if you're using the car park before...
Read moreAVOID ON CONCERT DAYS I parked at Sheepfoot lane car park to see catfish and the bottlemen on the 13th June. When i bought the car parking ticket prior to the concert nowhere did it say that the car park would be shut UNTIL 0100am bearing in mind the concert finishes at 11pm. There are signs saying the car park shuts at 8pm for pedestrian safety but it doesnt say what time this extends to. Basically we have paid for a car park space just to be trapped after the concert. It was also raining heavily therefore the ground became extremely muddy making it difficult to drive the car out. If we had known this we would not have paid to park here. Really disappointed. Staff were unhelpful and a couple of them actually laughed when we asked them how this was allowed....
Read moreWell what can I say, it is a car park. You need to pay to park at there, which I find unusual for a park, but then again, it's only a couple of pounds for up to 3 hours. Last time I went there was a guy in a scooter driving around the car park very fast, and while I was reversing to park in a spot he hit my car!!!! I wasn't going fast, he didn't see my reverse lights and he was going really fast!!! I'm...
