We tried this fantastic tucked away little restaurant for the first time last night after reading about it online and thought we'd give it a go. We booked a table just an hour beforehand and were told no problem just come along and when we turned up we found it was just beginning to get busy at 7.30pm.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming from the first moment and very helpful when I asked some questions about dishes suitable to my girlfriends tastes and needs they were more than obliging in answering.

After a very short wait the food itself was absolutely superb beginning with the perfectly fresh and crispy poppadums and vibrantly colourful pickle tray which contained some really appetising and tasty selections.

Before long the main courses arrived and they certainly did not disappoint as they tasted just as good as they looked as well as being generously portioned. The spiciness of the biryani that I'd enquired about was just as I'd been assured it would and all of the food was fresh, colourful and full of flavour. The peshwari naan and saag paneer side dish were also absolutely outstanding. The prices also deserve a mention as being very reasonable especially when compared to the other couple of great restaurants we have frequented in newport. I think this place tops those both in terms of cost and very slightly in quality too. The food itself feels very light and somewhat less rich and oily than most other places which we really found to be a bonus as we left feeling much less of the usual "after Indian feeling" that we usually get.

We will definitely be frequenting this lovely little restaurant from now on and we wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend it to anyone who gets the...

Visited with a large group of friends. Our food was ordered in advance and was ready all at the same time, nice and hot. Vegetable jalfrezi was delicious (they checked it was dairy free for me). They also have a sign up saying to inform them of any food allergies/dietary requirements so they seem happy to accommodate this.

Service was fantastic and very friendly. The meal was for a friend leaving and they brought out a chocolate cake at the end which was a lovely touch. They were also very generous with the poppodoms and dips at the beginning of the meal.

The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is there was some confusion over the bill at the end because we all paid separately, some in cash, some on cards. It was just an error (something hadn't been written down I think?) and it was all resolved within a few minutes. I realise it can be a pain with a large group like that but this is really the only constructive feedback I can give for the staff to be aware of, everything else was good.

As well as our group, they were also serving others in the restaurant and people collecting takeaways.

Overall, a lovely night out, great food and service, I would definitely return. I thought the prices were also very...

I’m boring. I like a chicken tikka massala. However, I’d rather not have said classic with 2llb of sugar added to it, along with red food dye that has a half life of 15 years. So, how happy am I to have found the new Lahore. No, I’m not an influencer ( I can’t even get my dogs to behave) the truth is, the local paper suggested this place as number 1 in Newport. I had sheish ( can’t spell it) kebab to start, it was bloody lovely, the aforementioned Chicken Tikka Massala, which was truly delicious and a Peshwari nan (told you I wasn’t adventurous!) and I think in all honesty, you can really judge an Indian takeaway by its nan bread. The Peshwari nan was quite simply the best one I have ever had. Definatley freshly cooked and full of coconut. The only downside I can think of was the fact I had no chance of eating it all, there was more than enough for two people. Don’t worry, the other half is resting in the freezer waiting to be reanimated one night very soon. This IS the best Indian takeaway in Newport, you’re a fool if you go...

So far the best Indian subcontinent food joint I’ve tried in Newport city. Very close to the city centre, this restaurant has a huge menu with plenty of options. They have a signature menu and drinks menu apart from the regular menu. The restaurant has an amazing ambience as well, with a a very spacious dining area. The old person who’s the owner/ manager was very friendly and courteous. We tried Veg Jalfrezi, Lahori Biriyani, Grill platter, Tikka starter, Paneer starter, Pappadam with chutney bowl and hot beverages. All the food we tried were amazing and worth the money. The only negative id think of is that there are no chai/ desi drinks on their menu, apparently because they don’t sell much in this British dominated area. Also, it’s a Pakistani/ Bangladeshi restaurant but uses the tag Indian restaurant, which means it’s not an authentic Indian restaurant (although that isn’t much of a problem) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ customer friendliness ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ value for money Verdict: An amazing choice for an Indian dinner.

Ok, so we went for dinner with a group of 12 people including 6 adults and 6 kids. Soon after seeing kids they removed napkins from table that was the first offensive thing they did but as kids were hungry we ignored and ordered never knewit would thake them hours to serve the food. The behaviour of staff was so unwelcoming. We ordered food it took them around an hour to serve us food. They don't serve tap water but rather expensive bottled water. One nan took 10 minutes to be served. The staff was behaving as if they do not like to work or they are forced to work. One of the worst restaurants we visited recently. Wasted money and time. The food is not Pakitani at all but sweet like all Indian restaurants. Although the food ok the service seems like those people want this restaurant to be closed soon.
