The rooms are really well decorated and a lot of the puzzles are a lot more varied than a series of combinations and direction locks. With both puzzles have bespokely integrated features in them which made them feel entirely unique. Which we found very refreshing compared to ones we have played in the past. The puzzles also do vary in difficulty, we found Chronos to be noticeably more challenging to identify and utilise clues. So certainly read up on the rooms before going, if it is your first time. We played the Chronos and Contraption rooms whilst on a weekend away. It was our 5th anniversary and I had contacted the team well in advance to ask them to hide an additional lock box inside the room. This was so then I could surprise my partner with an engagement proposal. The staff were incredibly helpful and enthusiastic on both days, and the manager even wrote a bespoke clue just for my partner to help her solve the code to the engagement ring box. Luckily she said yes and we still had enough time to solve the puzzle! Although I was a little distracted by the imminent proposal whilst solving Chronos. We had enough time and a cheeky hint to get it all solved in time (52mins). Contraption was great fun, but a tad easier to solve (41mins). Both puzzles were really fun and it was a really great time solving some truly original puzzles! The next time my fiancée and I return to nottingham, we will certainly be visiting Escapologic again! Thanks to the team for all of your help. To anyone who has never done escape room before, this would be a great place to start. Highly recommend.

My husband and I wanted some spooky activities to do on our first wedding anniversary, and what better way to test our marriage than some horror escape rooms? We booked in for two, one right after another- Howitz and The Butcher. Immediately upon walking into the building, the theming is amazing. The staff are all polite, knowledgeable and incredibly enthusiastic. Our first games master Joe took great delight in setting the scene for what turned out to be the most terrifying experience of my life. No spoilers, but that room was intense. Huge shoutout to Joe for being so passionate and eager in creating the best experience for us! So after being thoroughly scared, Thom then took us to meet the Butcher. A totally different but nonetheless terrifying atmosphere with a completely different set of obstacles, I once again found myself gripped with fear. Another fantastic games master, and even though we sadly didn’t escape the Butcher it did not put a dampener on our terrifying immersive experience. Absolutely worth the money, and I definitely recommend to any horror fan. It’s the closest you will ever get to being in your own horror movie- 10/10, five stars, and our marriage survived!

So I've never done an escape room, as I read that most of them are find a key etc. So we arranged to do one with our friends and happy we chose this one. You need logical thinking as well as a hunt. We did the howitz room which had enough jump scares for people (though I wasn't fazed, kind of immune to that sort of stuff) this was absolutely epic fun, with some brain teasing and a great balance of logical puzzles and hide and seek. I was going to give it 5 stars but I cant and its abit that unfair really as the room was exceptional so was our room host Anysha. You get your time card and a free photo which is awesome, But there's no push to return... a team name for all participants and fastest or funniest of the month/year chalkboard or honours list would be good and a little discount card like 10% if you were to return soon would be great. Escapologic has something against all the reviews I've read which is actual thinking but its just missing that final punch. Or an room which you can only access when you have successfully completed all other rooms which would be ideal for completionists

Having recently completed all the rooms at Escapologic, we can honestly say that overall their rooms are excellent.

Now, obviously we have our favourites (such as Contraption & Howitz), as well as not-so favourites (such as Epicentre). This isn't due to anything wrong with the rooms per se, more to do with either not being the most interesting theme for us personally, or they contained some puzzles that were a bit too convoluted. Of course, I can't go into detail as it would spoil said rooms :)

Our only minor criticism is that we had 100% escape success rate.. until we got to our last room, Curio. Honestly, even though we think Curio was a very well done room as much as the others (again, don't want to spoil the room) the problem we felt was there were too many puzzles required in the 1hr time frame. It really felt like for the amount the room required from you to solve, it really needed 1hr:15mins to complete. Obviously skill differs from group to group, but at the end of the day any escape room you go into you go in blind, and not all puzzles can be worked out instantly. So given fair time to work out puzzles, and including clues from the game master, its no wonder Curio is their hardest room. This is especially apparent when the success rate is

This was my first ever escape room, which I did with my friend who's been to other escape rooms and plenty of scare mazes. I booked THE BUTCHER as they are massively into horror and thought it would be the perfect choice. After a short wait in the waiting area we got lead by our game master Nat who gave us the run down of health and safety and story. Due to this being a 18+ room due to the horror themed we got tole to choose a safe word incase things became too intense.

I will state that it is a completely different mental state, than it is compared to an escape room. As when you're plunged into darkness in an escape room, you typical know it's linear and know where to go compared the escape room.

So just after a few minutes things were a bit too intense (not in a negative way to the company who did an AMAZING job of creating an terryfying atmosphere) and after saying the safe word, the game was quickly ended and we got checked on by Nat who explained a little of what would have happened next.

We were then took back to the waiting room and was given a range of other games to choose from, which we ended going for EPI center (which is perfect for 2 people). The interaction from the intercom with their range of funny quips and subtle hints or statements when we might have missed an extra item in a specific area cough the lockers cough made the experience something I won't forget. We managed to escape in 58 minutes and can't thank Nat enough for my first ever escape...
