Warhammer — Local services in Nottingham

I wandered in as an adult with zero experience of Warhammer or any similar game. My husband and I had been given a set with some figures, and I was intrigued to learn more. I didn’t feel like I fit the typical Warhammer audience, however, so I was a bit cautious, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I asked Trent, one of the employees, where to start and ended up having a fantastic experience I wasn’t expecting at all! He taught us how to build, paint, and play with plenty of patience and two free miniatures and loads of time for us. Thanks to his warm welcome, I’ve been really getting into building and painting, and I can’t wait to go back in and learn more. It’s been brilliant for my mental health to have this new hobby, and it’s all down to Trent and this store for making me feel really welcomed and like this is a hobby for everyone.

Not knowing much about Warhammer, we popped into the shop spontaneously this morning between errands, just out of curiosity. There we were greeted by Chris who was so welcoming and friendly and quickly got us settled at the beginners station building and painting models. Afterwards he ran through a quick game with us just to show us how it worked, enthusiastically describing the scenario in intricate detail until we were up on tiptoe with excitement charging into battle to rescue the kidnapped victim! This wonderful impromtu experience turned out to be the best part of our day. Chris was so attentive and answered every question we had. I have an on/off love to build and paint warhammer, with months going by between getting new models. Today was my first time since January making the dive and so I went into the shop with just the desire to buy something that took my fancy. Was immediately greeted by the two guys working there, Joe and Jack and walked away happily spending £40. During that time, I was provided with expert advice and service after stating I just wanted to build a monster model. As I browsed the well laid shelves, Joe talked me through several models as well as their ease to build and paint; what stood out to me the most was his own genuine adoration for the process and to share the love he has for it, which as a customer made me feel infinity more relaxed as it felt he was selling a passion rather than a product.
