RACIST & DISCRIMINATIVE! I absolutely hate to do this but I was left so hurt and upset that I feel that I have no choice. On two separate occasions I have noticed that the staff only ask black customers for payment before treatment! I understand that they have rules and possible good reasons for such ruleâs however they should be equally applied to each and every single customer regardless of skin colour or appearance. I had literally just watched a lady finish her nails and then both the customer and the technician walked to the desk to take/make payment however when she sat with me she asked for my money straight away. I questioned her on this and she said âoh sorry we forgot with her we make mistake because we switchedâ which obviously makes no sense if they were following their rules that every customer pays BEFORE treatment. I did say to her that it seemed very convenient that this was the second time Iâd been in and noticed that the ladies who had a lighter hue than me were able to pay at the end of their treatment at the desk whilst I was being asked before theyâd even touched my hand! Instead of any apology for this blatant discrimination and racist behaviour I was told that I was being rude and making a scene and ushered to leave! Iâve honestly rarely been so upset in all my life! For an establishment to be blatantly treating people this way in 2023 is wild, especially when POC make up the majority of their client base! I understand why the rules are in place but they should apply to everyone at all times! Iâm not trying to hurt the business at all but this was my experience and Id definitely encourage my black women and POC to go where youâre respected, valued and appreciated because itâs NOT HERE!
Update: The tone of your written response is very different to the one you took when you called yesterday to offer your profuse and deep apology as well as complimentary treatments as a good will gesture. Please avoid lying as I did not ask any of your other customers anything. I was referring to my own personal experience and treatment whereby on two occasions you asked me - a black woman- for payment up front whilst you were happy to take payment from lighter hued ladies after treatment. During the phone call we discussed issues with your staff training and your staff possibly displaying an unconscious bias. Something which can occur whether or not you have black friends and family! As stated previously I have no problem with your rules! However you need to ensure that they are applied to all customers...
Read morei have never been so disgusted by a nail place!! at first it seems sketchy because the guy who was managing it all took the payment instead of the girl who was doing my nails and the products they put onto me burnt, they also put the pattern on the wrong finger, but leaving that nail salon was where all the problems started.
first of all, the nails are so thin itâs ridiculous!! one of them broke off under a week of having them, most nails last me a month but itâs now 2 weeks later and these nails are all coming off. when another one came off, it ripped off my natural nail and the one that is about to come off hurts so badly, theyâve drilled my nails too much and i donât think theyâre going to be the same again.
like i said, i am disgusted. i only went to this place as my normal nail shop is closed on a sunday!! AVOID THEM unless you want damaged nails.
update: itâs been six months and my nails are still damaged and weak (iâll get a vid of them in the morning,) but iâve also just had a look at the reply that theyâve given me and theyâre flat out lying. i called in to see if they had any spaces available and now theyâre saying that âyou have no record of these nails?â so you donât keep track of what or who comes in?? thatâs such a shady business practice.
and also saying that âall the other nails stayed on while only one snapped offâ is something else, you clearly only looked at the first picture. and for the record, saying that all your products are UK standard and not offering any proof is amazing.
youâve attempted to gaslight me in this reply and i am not having. this is disgusting, you should not be working with the general public if you act like this and judging off the replies youâve given to others, maybe itâs time to find a new...
Read moreI hate to leave bad reviews but I have had a number of uncomfortable experiences so I think it's time to stop overlooking this. I have also observed the uncomfortableness of others. The last time I went another customer even asked if I was ok as the boy doing my nails was so rude for no reason. I think he was frustrated about something personal and took it out on me but it's really not nice behaviour.
Unfortunately this place has gone down hill. It really is a shame as I has been coming here for years. These days, the nails look pretty however the way that 'some' of the staff treat customers on occasion is not nice at all.
I won't be going back and have since trialed a new place that costs a few pounds more but at least I feel respected and can leave peacefully. I do hope Lily comes back at some point as I remember her managerial presence was very warm and I feel as though the workers need to develop their customer liaison skills to bring this place back to where it used to be.
The managers are kind and informative but unfortunately there are some workers who are really letting this place down by making customers uncomfortable.
Last time I was over charged by just a few pounds but couldn't be bothered to discuss. Last time the tech placed the nail extension in such a way that the tip was not glued down properly and this effects how long they last.
Sonny, you and your sister are amazing but you really need to look into the staff as some of them are letting the salon down particularly with how they speak to customers and leave them feeling bad. I hope it's sorted and gets...
